Default Prime Minister Blair

As a British citizen I am stuck with having Tony Blair as leader of my country. However I do vote for his party, Labour, in General Elections. Not because I agree with Blair but because I have a belief in the Labour party even if Blair is leading it. Blair will step down from Office within the next two years but what is your opinion of him? Is he liked abroad? Does his friendship with Bush hinder the World's opinion of him?

Default I like him

Like Bush, I think that he understands what it takes to defeat terrorism. The reason that people don't like him, and Bush, is because these days its unpopular to lead people into war. But I think the silent majority will appreciate what Bush an Blair have done. They have gone into two nations that have been a threat to world peace and instilled democracy. History will be on their side, NOT on the side of the far left.

Default I don't understand Blair at all

but I believe he is sincere. He was wrong on Iraq, but has done everything right since the July attacks.

Tony kicks butt on tv ..very entertaining.

only time I ever see him is when cspan covers the PrimeMinister's question time at the House of Commons... dude knows his sh*t

Too bad the US president does not get grilled on a regular basis like the UK parliament does with their PM. Over here the president is for the most part insulated from the senate and press.

Not in my eye. Dubya has a knack for murdering the english language so he needs PM Blair's flair for words when expressing ideas to the world community.

Really? Do they edit out the five minute pauses between each word?

Default I think the pauses

are so he doesn't sound like W. W's mouth moves WAY faster than his brain works. Maybe Blair works the opposite way!

Yeah but sometimes you just wish he'd get on with it.

Default Agreed.

But then again I lived in Alabama for 4 years and got used to one sentence taking a long time to get out.

For the most part I like Blair. On most issues -- such as the environment, public interest, international law, etc. -- he seems good, as does the Labour party.

Of course, his position on Iraq is the big sore spot. I think he had a sincere belief that going with the US would be in Britain's interest, and bullying from the Bush administration no doubt fostered that.
So, for this reason he does carry an image of being a "US lap-dog." I'll tell you what, though, it must be nice to have someone who can speak proper English represent your country.

He got 33% of the popular vote and still won. This completely baffles me.
