I've recently had a look at a curious document of the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), appeared in I-net
http://www.dubaimelt.com/images/melt_asd.jpg . I tell straight off that I'm certainly glad to see it. At last UNO begins to cerebrate realistically. Once UN Security Council made a great mistake, acceding to American action of retaliation for 9/11 terrorist attacks. Now it's clear to everyone that Osama ben Laden and Al-Qaida are only myths (the same as WMD in Iraq), fabled by dodgy Yankees for their invasion. And now, on the eve of forthcoming Afghani parliamentary elections they've engineered a new myth, prepared for UNAMA. I mean a list of persons that are to be arrested for drug trafficking. Certainly such opposition leaders of Afghanistan as M.A. Ahmadzai, S. Gailani and L. Pedram have turned out to be there. Thus, Americans decided to neutralize opposition forces and to prevent their participation in elections. It's American vision of democracy in Afghanistan. But it seems UNAMA doesn't want to be responsible for mass riots that may begin as a result of such arrests. And in the end not American troops but UNAMA may become a real guarantor of democracy in Afghanistan.
