Default Thrown out of the Democratic underground

I decided to see what the democratic underground was like so I logged and registered. After a few days I was thrown out. I wrote to the administrator and was told that I did not exhibit "democratic or progressive attitudes or ideals ".

The one post that really offended them was when I told them that it is ok to assassinate Communists and that actually as dumb as Robertson's statement was he was actually correct.

Well I guess that they just cannot live up to their name - democratic .

Has this happened to anyone else ??

Default We're the best

I've only known of two people to get kicked out of here. They broke the rules and continued to after numerous warnings. That's what makes us special. We don't mind so much what you say, but be careful how you say it.

f100, did they have a warning in the beginning that you had to toe the line? Free Republic says in the user agreement that they are for conservative users (no fun at all). But, I've seen many liberal/democrat posters on Hannity.com - I think they allow dissent as long as there's no profanity etc...

From their forum rules. Is "progressive" the new word for liberal?

Yes I did read the rules, and NO I did not use profanity, I do not use profanity on-line. I did read something about supporting "progressive positions and candidates". The only thing progressive I support is progressive jazz or parties but I thought that they meant fun social parties eating and drinking.

I should have known I was in danger when someone posted a thread saying that the D.U. should throw out all conservative and moderate Democrats. I did admit that when I was a Democrat that I was a conservative one.

Well just goes to prove that I did not leave the Democratic Party it left me.

Most liberals want to spin it that way. "Liberal" has earned a bad name, so they want to pick a word that can't be tampered with. Progressive has always meant positive steps forward and it would be difficult for the public to see this word as negative, even after it has been associated with such a negative group of people.

A few days? They kicked me out after a few minutes. I made the mistake of arguing that a society should allow effort and achievement to be rewarded by the market. I was gone. Apparently, according to the administrator, this idea was not progressive.

That sounds hilarious. Can you post the actual words that they deemed unacceptable?

Default .

Reminds me of the loyalty oaths people had to sign or pledge outloud to attend Bush events... I could see why people with opposing views would want to get into Bush events but why waste your time with the democratic underground? Too much time on your hands it looks like. It’s not worth it people.

It was at least two years ago. I have no proof.
