Default Which would you prefer?

A question to the members of this forum is:

Would you prefer a success in Iraq thus resulting in the reelection of Bush?

Or would you prefer a failure in Iraq thus resulting in the ousting of Bush?

Why?

Default I don't care

I'd rather see our troops back home, regardless of who wins the election.

Default ?

Failure in Iraq does not = Bush is ousted. Likewise, Iraq success (what ever that is) doesn't = Bush is back in town.

Default Something to think about.

For someone to wish death and destruction upon a nation to remove a leader is obviously very bad policy, as denoted by the entire Iraq war.

That's strange to connect those two things. I don't think one has anything to do with the other. I just hope and pray for success in Iraq....for our soldiers and for our COUNTRY....and because the world will be better off if there is success there.

Default Could someone define "success"?

I want what's best for this nation, but I would like a definition of success here.

Default Another "what if"

What if we win in Iraq, and Bush doesn't get re-elected?

Default Wishing for failure with this much on the line is childish

When it comes to something where as many of our people and as much of our resources are on the line, only a child or a fool would wish for failure.

I vocally disagreed with the decision to invade Iraq, but that ship sailed more than a year ago. We happen to be there now, and failure would carry a huge cost in both wasted lives and long term credibility. Nobody and no nation would every trust the US to follow through on commitments in the future. There is a lot of truth to the axiom that you can get it right a thousand times, but what people will remember is the one time you got it wrong.

This is something that is very important not to get wrong, although our leadership seems to be bound and determined to make it as difficult as possible.

Default You know...

I made the "we're there now, we might as well make the best of it" argument when I first got here months ago. I got dismissed out of hand. Now that others bring it up, it's cool.

Nice.
