Default British Political Quiz

This is an interesting British quiz. Skip the questions that don't apply if you live outside Britain (I'm an American). This is the link, followed by my results:

http://www.politicalsurvey2005.com/

Crime and punishment, internationalism
Your position on this axis is -0.3
You are likely to be centrist.

Economics, etc
Your position on this axis is 3.7
You are likely to be very free-market and pro-war.

On the first set of issues (comparing me with British respondents):

26.4% are significantly to your left
31.2% have views about the same as yours
42.4% are significantly to your right

You didn't tell us which party you intend to vote for, but on your answers we judge — against this axis only — that your best match is the Labour party. The graph below shows how your views compare to the views of Labour voters.

You didn't tell us which (if any) newspaper you read regularly, but on your answers on this axis we judge your best match is the The Mirror / Daily Record. The graph below shows how your views compare to the views of readers of The Mirror / Daily Record.

On the second set of issues:

95.8% are significantly to your left
3.8% have views about the same as yours
0.4% are significantly to your right

You didn't tell us which party you intend to vote for, but on your answers we judge — against this axis only — that your best match is the Conservative party. The graph below shows how your views compare to the views of Conservative voters.

You didn't tell us which (if any) newspaper you read regularly, but on your answers on this axis we judge your best match is the The Daily Telegraph. The graph below shows how your views compare to the views of readers of The Daily Telegraph.

The Mirror? Force, you should be ashamed!

Crime and punishment, internationalism

Your position on this axis is -2.3
You are likely to be slightly internationalist and rehabilitationist.

Economics, etc

Your position on this axis is 2.4
You are likely to be fairly free-market and pro-war.

Compared to the whole population...

* 10.8% are significantly to your left
* 15.1% have views about the same as yours
* 74.0% are significantly to your right

You didn't tell us which party you intend to vote for, but on your answers we judge — against this axis only — that your best match is the Green party. The graph below shows how your views compare to the views of Green voters. But... not very many people intend to vote for that party, so this might be wildly off. [The Greens!! It looks like all that weed is getting to me ]

You told us that you regularly read The Times.

Based on the answers you've given us, on this axis, we judge that of the well-known 'papers, readers of The Independent have views most like yours.

On the second set of issues:
Compared to the whole population...

* 14.4% have views about the same as yours
* 1.7% are significantly to your right

I know almost nothing about British periodicals, although I gather that The Guardian is extremely left-wing.

It is left-wing, but not H-P extreme left (though he does read it). The Mirror is a tabloid.

I read The Times. I thought that they would've given Force The Times, it is very centrist (IMO).

Pro-war?! Pro-war?!
Lemme at 'em! I'll %#%#@ kill 'em!

Green Party? Are they like our Green Party? Can't be.
Axis One: Fairly Left Wing
Axis Two: Extremely Right Wing

Brits are weird! How is it that just by being a capitalist I get guilt by association with warmongers? I've always been excessively anti-war. Plus I'm usually an extreme liberal on social issues and a moderate conservative on economic. I guess it's all relative.
But why are war and capitalism lumped together?!

This site has a definite liberal bias. That is why it equates capitalism with hawkishness.

I agree that it has a liberal bias, but I also think there is a major difference between American and British politics. For instance, in the US it's almost accepted that we adopt free market capitalism no matter what party you are. In Europe, that's not the case.
