Java, maybe we should hook this dude up with Political? Five bucks says his only members are him and his alter-egos. Whitey, honestly, if you want to be the next 'Great Leader' do it through extremism only if the nation is desperate. Right now, most Americans are fat and happy. Gaining power now takes moderation. Drop religion because people like me fear Gallileanism more than radical Islam and I don't care about Zionism because it's OBSOLETE. I come from a Christian background, (hell, my ancestors were Knights Templars, defenders of the Pope until the French screwed us over), but I have just an easy time contemplating destroying Christian extremism in my own nation as I do about going after Muslim extremists. Hell, let them be extremist if it doesn't effect us and it's not killing innocents.

lol, sorry Poli, couldn't resist. We may snipe at each other, but I'm almost fond of you... uhhh... that sounded odd.... Uh, right. Yeah Poli, this dude trips me out. I may think you are kinda out there, but at least you are semi-reasonable (from my eyes). This dudes just... uhhh... yeeaaaah. Probably wants people like me dead. Born into a protestant family, but now a Muslim. Course my family encouraged free thinking so I converted due to my desire to learn more and I liked what I saw and the respect for eachother. Although I am very liberal for a Muslim...

well my teacher is a feminist and after watching a talk by dr.zakir naik she changed her opinion about islam and said that islam does really give rights to women and my teacher is a non muslim
women are used in america and west be it in army or at work place but islam respects women and gives her rights compared to any other religion or system

I agree with political to an extent... Depends on how you define Islamic.
The deplorable treatment of women in Islamic countries is a longstanding cultural dilemma, not one created in Islam. There are Muslim feminists who proclaim that the Qu'ran is more compatible with feminism than the bible. For one thing Eve is not considered a lesser person to Adam and is not assigned primary blame for "original sin" and there is a lot of parity in what is expected of men or women.
It is the interpretations of Islamic elites that keeps Islam from reclaiming its past progressiveness and living up to its own ideals.
I personally believe Pakistan will be the first country in which we see the Islamic elites uprooted from their Ivory Towers. I heard a story on NPR on how Musharif is having greater success in disposing of the antiquidated Islamic legal code and putting an end to terrible treatment of women- Why? Because a free TV network is backing up his stands (and people say "liberal media" like it's a bad thing ). It turns out popular opinion is strong for a progressive Muslim society and while the fear of radicals and the disproportionate power of Islamic elites is still a problem, it seems to me only a matter of time before the majority stands up empowered against them (and I don't think India will have to think twice about helping Musharif crush the remaining militants once it is politically safe for Pakistan to denounce the terrorists completely). Musharif seems to be pretty smart in his firmness against radicals but moderation to avoid too much reaction (though India seems to wish he would pick up the pace).
I'm willing to bet that the Muslim world is much more moderate and progressive than we give them credit for. The key is in giving them the confidence to fight radicalism and to create a safe environment for more moderate Islamic leaders to speak out.

I never saw the one rota was talking about. But from the sounds of it he was warned multiple times to summarize his articles.
It doesn't sound like it was the content, but the format he used, which the moderators have made clear they don't want people using.
It sounds like he's trying to pressure the mods into changing their rules on format.
It's too bad. I think rota's a pretty interesting poster. But I think his ego might have gone too far... It's not like he was banned though. He could post more, just so long as he summarizes and links the articles as the mods ask.

Where I've been:
I just moved into a new apartment without internet access... and I lost my dumb retail job due to store closing, so I don't have as much time around computers as I did. Furthermore I might be finally getting a full-time job that will keep me busier.
I probably won't be around as often from here on out. But it's a good trade off, being that I'll be married and have a real full-time job.
I'll try to get on whenever I'm around a computer and not busy.

I have a timer set for a Naik documentary on Link TV in an hour. Oh yeah, the West doesn't realise that Islam granted rights 1500 years before an Western nation did. Hell, longer than that.
