Default Irish Political Quiz

I answered "no opinion" to the propositions that I didn't understand. After looking up the Progressive Democrats in Wikipedia, I agree that their policies are probably fairly close to what mine would be:

http://www.selectsmart.com/FREE/sele...t=electireland

#1 Progressive Democrats

#2 Fine Gael

#3 Fianna Fail

#4 Green Party

#5 Sinn Fein

#6 Labour

I appreciate all replies. Thank you very much.

I got the same as you, except Labour and Sinn Fein switched.
I had a lot of No Opinions as I know little about Irish politics.

Default I got

Labour
Sinn Fein
Green Party
Fianna Fail
Fine Gael
PDs

But I dont vote for parties, I vote for the best candidate. This has meant that in my constituency I have only once voted for the Labour candidate. I am tending toward the Green Party candidate this time, and their overall party manifesto is most in line with my own thinking, generally. Sinn Fein may get a nod down the line (proportional representation), if they progress a bit further in their democratic development between now and the election.

...they did, actually, but it was a long time ago. They are the party of Eamon de Valera (a surviving leader of the 1916 'Rising'), who, after having opposed the 'Treaty' agreed by Collins and Griffith stoked up an awful lot of trouble which led on to civil war (though he claimed never to have wanted this outcome). A few years later he formed Fianna Fail, The 'Republican' Party, emphasising its fidelity to the Republic proclaimed in 1916....

But he is long dead now, and they are now more famous for shady deals with developers, grubby County Councillors (and Taoisigh) taking huge backhanders from wealthy business interests on the strict understanding that they will never do them any political favours whatsoever..

up the Republic!
