Default The American Freedom Agenda

Watch this video, which is a discussion held by the Conservative Group "The American Freedom Agenda". It is an hour long, but a very informative discussion, featuring Bruce Fein and Bob Barr, who is going to be the Libertarian candidate for President this year.

Mainstream Conservatism has had a very long tradition of sticking up for individual freedom and responsibility, that is, until the Bush administration, along with the Neocons, which infested the Republican party, eviscerated Conservative principles. Simply put, Bush has a sneering contempt for, not only Conservatism, but for the rule of law, and American principles themselves. I would go even further and say that Bush is the poster boy for everything that is Anti American. Conservatives need to take the party back, and hold these traitors accountable.

No, I am a Paleocon. The Libertarian Party, while not completely representing what I believe in, is the closest party to Conservative principles now. Bob Barr is not a true Libertarian either, but I am sure he feels the same as I do, or he would not be running on their ticket.

I have been a member of the Republican party since I was 18. I have really started to research and I am about 90% Libertarian in my views. I have to admit the one stumbling block for me is the use of our Armed forces.

What the heck is Paleocon?

A real Goldwater Conservative. Not the RINOs that took over the party. Ronald Reagan is turning in his grave now.

I think we may get along, Ronald Reagan was from my hometown of Dixon IL. I met him when I was 17 and thought the guy was right next to God. I am a huge fan of Newt Gingrich and had hoped that he would run, when he didn't I with-drew from the Republican party.

Gingrich would have had no chance. Too much personal baggage, but his views are pretty much spot on. I voted for Ron Paul in the Texas primary, and am a big fan of the Revolution.

I voted for Fred Thompson after he dropped out in the Illinois primary, to show my displeasure with the remaining candidates on the Republican ticket. I would vote Libertarian in November but I can't stand Bob Barr. If Ron Paul was running I would vote for him.
