That's a bit more difficult to see... Hmm... Is Virgil the younger looking fellow on the right, while Dante is the one on the left?

And they're together because Virgil was Dante's guide in the Divine Comedy, and quite a fan of Virgil's poetry.

never really got into poetry until of late. I have friends who were so into it I'd run away from them from time to time.

The one and only Virgil poem I've ever read/liked was the Aeneid. I happened to read it because of the story in it, and the fictional description of Rome's ancestry. Reflectance of the birth of the Roman State, the forshadowing of the inevitable conflict between Rome and Carthage with Queen Dido's curse.

It's just a good story.
