Here is a question that has plagued humanity for years, and we are going to answer in here at PF. What is the best intelligence agency in the world? First, a few caveats:

-I only listed a single intelligence agency from each country.
-The selection was based on what agency is currently and primarily responsible for collecting external intelligence.
-If your choice is a historical intelligence agency (eg. OSS-U.S.), or simply not on the list (eg. Quds Force Intelligence-Iran)plus tell us what it is, why it's your choice, and what country it works for.

Prior to considering which intelligence agency is the best I recommend thinking about their ability to carry out operations, analyze the information they have, and the price for their intelligence failures.

My choice is the CIA. I would've selected the Mossad because their stories slugging it out with Black September, and acquiring the Mig-21 put James Bond to shame. But their price for failing to predict the Yom Kippur War, the Lillehammer incident, and the failure to accurately assess the threat posed by Hezbollah in 2006 were grave mistakes. In fact, the Yom Kippur war almost pushed the IDF to the breaking point.

PF, tell me, what is the best intelligence agency in the world?

I voted for the Israeli option. They break every and any human right to get information. They know no bounds. Even the US stops somewhere. China's information is limited to domestic stuff and islamic terrorism in regional areas; I don't know much about Russia's.

I don't dispute the "mostly", but we know China spies against the U.S. and Europe, and probably India, Japan, and Russia to name a few.

Out of all the choices you think only Mossad violates human rights?

Mossad violates them further and more frequently, all of them violate them.

From current knowledge, yeah. By far; the PRC is brutal in anti-terrorism but Israel is tops in its cruelty.

ASIS because you never hear about them but Australian intel is apparently quite good.

This thread is silly. No one can really know the answer to this question and anyone with the expertise to make an informed guess wouldn't do it on this thread.

Almost every single question on pf is based on one's opinion. And not even a career intelligence officer has the expertise to question somebody's personal opinion. Wise up.

The American government has said a few times that it gets a lot of its SE Asian intel from Australia. The Australian government at the time was all, "Gee, thanks for saying that."

The difference being that none of us are wise enough to intelligence to form an adequate opinion. Politics/religion extra are widely discussed and understood. The inner workings of the entire spectrum of world intelligence services is the complete opposite.

The CIA has merged interests with INTERPOL with globalization of the CIA has become more of a UN organization. It needs a revamping and a National not Global organization.

    John Tyler, et al,

The CIA has liaison connections with all sorts of organizations; including UN operations.

    (COMMENT)

The CIA is a national organization; and anyone who knows even the slightest about the CIA would know this.

    Most Respectfully,
    R
