None of these characteristics have anything to do with race. They have more to do with geography than race.

I don't disagree, but I think you are oversimplifying here. The real solution to end racism to to realize that we are all the same, human, and also accept people for their cultural, ancestral, and linguistic differences.

What fact? The biological fact that we can all interbreed in spite of our "racial" differences?

Did you know that ancient people had no notion of race despite the fact that they interacted with people from all over the world? The idea of was created to justify violence, enslavement, exploitation, and segregation of other other groups of people.

There may be a race war in the future, though I highly doubt it, but even if there is, it will only lead to a greater understanding that our differences are insignificant and not worth all the violence and hatred.

I figured out from another thread that TheTruth gets ethnicity and race mixed up.
Doc's analysis is correct. The concept of race is only about 400 years old, a bastard child of democracy during a time when slave-driven agriculture and land-grabbing were economic necessities. The concept had to be created in order to offset the idea of all men being equal by explaining that certain types of men were not- using obvious physical characteristics.
Before that point, people were divided by clan, empire, religion, language, and other things that we'd brand more as ethnicity.
In a way it's all the same, but race is the dumbest because there is so much hypocrisy in it. Other distinctions are themselves cultural constructs with real differences. Race is itself a cultural construction disguised as biology.

I think java doesnt like me anymore since i said i wouldnt want to hang out with him and force together and i told him to go f--k himself on his bday thread, so now he refuses to give me credit for my remarks and credits them to doc instead.

or perhaps he simply misread the name on the post. The names "Joker" and "Doctiloquus" are quite similar.

Actually I often get people mixed up because I type on a non-maximized window. I keep it scrolled to the right so that I can see the messages, but I don't always see the avatars and I get posts mixed up quite often.
And I really hate the posts where I have to scroll just to read the text.
But it doesn't matter. Joker, Doc, and JavaBlack are pretty easy to get mixed up. At least I didn't get one of you confused with BarneyFife or truebrit.

OK. So that's only part of it.
The other part is that I tend not to go back if I think my memory is clear- which it usually isn't- but I think it is. So if something was back a few posts, I'll often forget who said it by the time I get around to responding.
You use more emoticons than Joker and I generally know your respective signatures, but sometimes I blank those aspects out when there is a lot to read.

I think only L-I uses more smilies than me. I don't care, it makes the threads more colourful, and makes it obvious if I'm being sarcastic ect. as it's sometimes hard to tell when just reading text. That and it covers up the lack of any real substance in my posts...
