Back in January, there was an interview with the campaign managers for the gubernatorial race in PA. At one point, The campaign manager for Bill Scranton said "The rich white guy in this race, is Lynn Swann." If you're a steelers fan, you should know that gubernatorial candidate Lynn Swann, is black.
Of course there was a big fuss about the whole thing, and the campaign manager was fired.

So, do you guys think it's wrong? Do you think it matters at all?

I don't see anything wrong with the comments; if he had said something like "Kill the rich black guy," then I'd be upset.

He probably got fired for taking a cheap shot at one of PA's (much less the country) most adored athletes of all time.

It's a shame that people lose their jobs for stating their opinions.
Remember Jimmy Da Greek? Fired for stating that slaved were bred based on size to tend the fields better. Simple fact, but it got him fired.

Rush Limbaugh commented on a black player in his first season as a TV football announcer and got axed.

Blacks are still looking for reparations from slavery days.....

The mainstream media is constantly talking about some black or black organization in the courts trying to get a monetary compensation because their ancestors were slaves. It's in the news all the time in the NY area.

I will agree that this country is not as free as people think and not as free as it used to be.

I'll give you an example that illustrates two different disconcerting truths. The Fathers made undoubtebly sure Americans were able to express their thoughts through speech. This has been perverted so people use this right to justify disgusting things such as a lousy portrait of Mary smeared with elephant crap. They argue this drek is guaranteed under the Bill of rights. It's not. It says "Freedom of Speech" not freedom of Expression. Which means if the public deams something despicable or blasphemous, they can organize to ban it (under freedom of speech of course). But now, while this stuff is still protected with your Atheist Pedophile Professors in college etc. NYC and Houston have both come out within the span of Two months both declaring to speak the word '(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)' is forbidden. Do you see what I'm getting at people? It's almost like we're turning into freaken France. Perversions are protected while disagreement and intolerance are under attack. This all extremely upsets me and makes me wonder what the hell kind of people are living here now!? Please note I thoroughly understand all the different things needed to create people like this in society which makes me feel sorry for them and worry about the future survival of my nation; but without going into that, do you see the incredible injustice in the attitudes of people and the cultural suicide it promotes?

You're wrong about freedom of speech - it properly means anyone communicating an idea, and the acid test of it being upheld is the unpopularity or offensiveness of the ideas being expressed. If you don't like what is being expressed, don't listen or look, or arrange a boycott of the people who do it.
