Haven't been following this really.
But it looks like shee simply said she was raped by white guys.
She had injuries that were consistent with rape injuries.
They found DNA on her, but it did not belong to the suspects.
But was it some other white guys who raped her? I'm wondering why the animosity toward the victim here?
Even if the suspects are not guilty, how do we know someone else is not?

The lacrosse players were the only guys at the house that night. If she was raped by someone else and tried to pin it on these guys, she deserves to be in jail.

What apparently hasn't been pointed out is that she did specify by first names the guys who attacked her.

Why did they test the entire team? Even if the rape did occur, why should the entire team be tagged rapists by the actions of 3 of them? If she was aware enough to come up with names, couldn't she have at least specified hair color or some other distinguishing feature? Do they all look alike?

But alas, some that see everything black and white, or any other color for that matter live in a world of "them against us".

Then there are those that perpetuate the color issue for divisive or personal gain.

Woman pleads guilty in racist letters case

WAUKEGAN, Ill. -- A black woman accused of sending threatening letters to minorities at her former college has pleaded guilty to felony disorderly conduct and was sentenced to two years' probation.

Alicia Hardin, 20, also was ordered Thursday to perform 200 hours of community service, pay $2,000 restitution and cease all contact with Trinity International University, a small Christian school in suburban Chicago.

Hardin also has to submit to psychological testing if her probation officer recommends it, according to the Lake County state's attorney's office.

Authorities say Hardin sent letters filled with racial slurs and threats of violence to two black students and a Hispanic student last spring. One of the letters read: "I saw you in chapel... I had my gun in my pocket, but I wouldn't shoot."

Authorities have said Hardin sent the letters because she was unhappy at the school and wanted her parents to believe she wasn't safe there. The threats prompted officials to move dozens of minority students off campus for one night out of concern for their safety.

Hardin was arrested after tips from other students.

There's still a lot wrong in this nation. There's still a lot of discrimination. And with that, there are people who will take advantage of situations. It makes it very hard to know where people are coming from or what their motives might be.

For most of this nation's history, there has been under attention to crimes against minorities. I won't say that there is anything near over attention now, but here is a DA who is up for re-election, so I think he's going to make sure to not have any appearance of glossing over this. If anything, I think he's prepared to be overly aggressive, whether there is a case or not. He gets a double here: race and gender. If it's found that she's part Jewish, he'll be up for the trifecta.

This story is really muddled. A cop says she was drunk. Apparently the hospital says she wasn't. But I haven't seen actual evidence one way or the other. Then you get the kid that said something along the lines of having fantasies of skinning naked women like animals. That kid is a freak. Was he the one she named as an attacker?

Just confirms what any good Wahoo will tell you: friends don't let friends go to Duke.


But I do feel sorry for the school and the community. Whether it's being blown out of proportion or not, it'll be a long time before these wounds are healed.
