While the racist pig Sharpton marches to oust Imus, he does nothing to lobby those who propagate this language. America needs to stand up to these pukes that demand equality for all, but speak out of both sides of their mouths.

The article below says it perfectly, maybe someday you would like to help end all racism, starting with yourself. http://www.louisianaweekly.com/weekl...e.pl?20070416m

I don't think so. Everyone should have the right to say whatever they want. Rappers should be allowed to call woman hoes if that's what they think of them. Imus should be allowed to say the girls of the Rutger's basketball team has nappy hair if he thinks they do.

It comes down to simple market economics. Imus's comments were a liability for the station. Rappers using the same language is an asset. It's also worth noting that when rappers do it it is supposedly expressive of what they know. When Imus did it it was satirical of that expression... It is not uncommon for comedy to fail to appeal to large audiences- it pleases a niche and offends many more. The result is that his brand was one that did more mass offense than mass appeal. So he's out a job.
He'll likely go to podcasting or book-writing or some other medium that appeals to a niche crowd. The music industry, aside from mindless pop, is already marketed toward niches.

...but we can never be sure that it is true. Imus was canned before he got the chance to proof that he can still maintain his profitability. I would agree with you if he were kept on the air for a few more weeks and was then fired because his ratings tumbled since Apr 4.

imus' being a liability was pretty obvious. i don't think any good business would endure a likely problem to see how things might pan out despite the obvious...
bronco, i'm not racist and don't apologize for racism.
