Okay then. I'll give you a better idea of who I am. I've lived my life as somewhat of a "misfit". I've been the nerdy kid. I've been derided by some Black kids(a few White kids too) for "acting White". I've also dealt with racial harassment. I've pretty much had trouble from alot of people. What I want is to live in an environment where I am safe, where I don't have to worry about getting derided for "acting White". I can vote, go to school wherever I want, and do things that would have been off limits to my grandparents. I don't want to lose any of that. For my own personal life, I have to think about what helps ME.
And something else too. Bill Cosby did speak out against some Black children not applying themselves and how there is alot of work that needs to be done. People like me listened to what he had to say and agreed with him. However, the Black people who derided him and equated him to an Uncle Tom do so because that would have done so anyway. Bill Cosby is just one man. I am just one man. I can tell the people who are acting like idiots to "shape up or ship out". I could tell them that. The question is, will those persons listen. In fact, I've actually done that before. I've actually spoken to a few students myself(when I actually was in high school) about their behavior. They just laughed and said "this is just how we are". I can tell people stuff. It's a question of listening and changing one's mentality.
