Act Of Valor—Act Of Treason: Obama Imposes Affirmative Action On Navy SEALs

"We got him." The triumphant moment of President Barack Obama's time as Commander-in-Chief came when he announced the successful mission by Navy SEALs to take out Osama Bin Laden. It was spontaneously celebrated by Americans of all political leanings. It gave Obama a card that no Republican can match.

Footage of Americans celebrating the Navy SEALS’ success is compelling to anyone interested in "The National Question". You see a genuine outpouring of patriotic emotion in the wake of the 9/11 mastermind's death. For a moment, it was possible to believe that United States of America was still a serious nation—instead of a dissolving empire ruled by unelected judges and tyrannical Department of Justice bureaucrats bent on, in Peter Brimelow’s words, "electing a new people."

Obama has wrapped himself in the mantle of the SEALS. This unit has become the face of his Administration's defense strategy. [CBS News, January 26, 2012] Thus it was a Navy SEAL operation that freed Danish national Poul Hagen and American Jessica Buchanan who were held captive by Somalia terrorists in January, 2012.

Now, just in time to capitalize on this new-found fame, Act of Valor, a Hollywood-produced film opens February 24.

Featuring actual active-duty Navy SEALs, Act of Valor is the type of action movie that puts to shame the Sylvester Stallone/ Chuck Norris/ Arnold Schwarzenegger super-hero caricatures from the 1980s. These SEALs are the real deal, who risk their lives in thankless missions around the world and don’t get to utter a quotable one-liner before they dispatch the villain.

In reality, of course, although our southern border is certainly an easy entry point, neither Obama nor any other US President is likely to send any military unit (let alone the SEALs) to protect our interests.

After all, these illegal aliens represent future votes for the Democratic Party—and cheap labor for the Big Business donors to the Republican Party.

But there is a problem. Unfortunately for President Obama, in wrapping himself in the SEALs mantle, he is embracing perhaps the whitest unit in all of the U.S. military.

Edging out fighter pilots, the members of the Navy SEALS—and, for that matter, all U.S. Special Forces Units—are the most embarrassingly white group of government employees in America.

This phenomenon, which of course is the inevitable result of the military’s reliance on objective testing, has been attracting liberal lamentation for years:

When a military mission requires stealth, speed, unconventional methods or political sensitivity, the Pentagon often assigns the job to its most elite fighting forces -- Army Special Forces and Rangers, Navy SEALs and Air Force air commandos.

These special-operations forces are the best-trained units in America’s arsenal. Using guns, knives and explosives is second nature. All are experienced paratroopers. Many speak a foreign language.

And nearly all are white…

Blacks, Latinos, Asians, American Indians and other minorities now make up 34 percent of the military, greater than the 28.5 percent minority representation within the general U.S. population.

But the picture is very different in elite units.

•Only 13 percent of the Pentagon’s highly trained special-operations forces are racial minorities. Of the 8,775 Army, Navy and Air Force commandos, 1,180 are classified as minorities.
•Less than 15 percent of the Army’s Special Forces and Rangers personnel are soldiers of color, compared with about 40 percent of the entire Army.
•About 11 percent of Navy SEALs, whose headquarters are in Coronado, are minorities. "We are underrepresented (with minorities) compared to what we’d like," acknowledged Rear Adm. Eric Olson, the Navy’s top SEAL.
•Eight percent of the Air Force’s special-tactics and pararescue groups, the military’s smallest commando force, are minority members.
The greatest disparity appears in the ranks of black servicemen.

•The Army Special Forces, known by distinctive green berets, has 234 African-American officers and soldiers in a force of 5,200 men. Blacks make up 4.5 percent of the Green Berets, compared with nearly 24 percent of the male soldiers in the Army.
•The Navy has only 31 blacks among its 2,299 Sea-Air-Land, or SEAL, commandos, less than 2 percent of the force. African-Americans constitute nearly 17 percent of the male personnel within the Navy.
And, the Air Force’s special-tactics groups have only eight blacks in a force of 472 men, less than 2 percent. Thankfully, under the Obama Administration, this scandalous situation is now being addressed, according to a Military Times story by a female Hispanic reporter:

“The Naval Special Warfare Center is embarking on new marketing and awareness campaigns to reach more minority candidates who have the best odds of becoming Navy SEALs in the hope that those efforts will diversity the commando force.

The campaign is the latest move by Naval Special Warfare Command to boost its recruitment of minorities, particularly African-Americans, to attend the Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL course and follow-on SEAL Qualification Training and join the all-male community of special operators — one that historically has been largely white.

Navy SEAL training is considered among the toughest in the military, with attrition rates from BUD/S average roughly 75 percent. But efforts in recent years, including an expanded recruitment effort and retooled preparatory course at the Naval Training Center in Great Lakes, Ill., are showing signs of easing attrition of potential SEAL and special warfare combatant-craft crewman candidates.

However, overall minority numbers still remain short of existing goals, and minority representation within NSW’s officer and enlisted communities remains much lower than what is reflected in the U.S. population.

Roughly 12.5 percent of the U.S. population is black, a number expected to rise to 13 percent by 2040, according to U.S. Census predictions. But only 10 percent of SEAL officers are minorities — with blacks representing 2 percent of officers — and minorities make up less than 20 percent of enlisted special warfare operators, according to a May contract solicitation for the pilot marketing and outreach program.

The latest plan comes as top military leaders — including Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Gary Roughead and Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and a former CNO — have spoken publicly about the importance of diversifying the military for the next generation, with diversity targets set for 2037. Such is the desire to increase minority—primarily black—participation in the SEALs that the Navy actually awarded a Wayne State School of Business advertising class a prize for the best marketing plan for increasing diversity.

The Navy SEALs awarded an advertising media planning class at Wayne State University’s School of Business Administration with its 2011 Scouting Project Scholastic Achievement Award.

The Navy SEALs aren't the only fighting force that our Pentagon has targeted for diversification.

Becoming a Navy SEAL is perhaps the ultimate expression of manliness left in America. This is why Act of Valor is being so heavily marketed to men 18-35, with commercials and promos playing upon the well-deserved reputation of supreme bad-assness the SEALs have built.

Currently, any member of the Navy SEALs deserves respect and gratitude. They went through hell to attain the right to be called a SEAL. Through merit alone, they attained this honor.

A former SEAL Team 6 member is speaking out about the national security consequences of having Barack Obama as a commander-in-chief. Montana State Sen. Ryan Zinke has launched Special Operations for America, a Super PAC that lists its mission as being committed to a strong and independent military, American exceptionalism and identifying and providing accurate information on policies that harm or discredit national security and members of the military.

Zinke spent 23 years in the Navy as a SEAL, going back to the Reagan administration. During his career he led counter-insurgency and contingency operations in the Persian Gulf and the Pacific theater of operations. He also was a SEAL commander is support of Bosnia, Croatia and Kosovo. During Operation Iraqi Freedom, he was responsible for killing or capturing 72 known enemy insurgents. In 2006, he was awarded two bronze stars for combat.

Appearing on Sean Hannity’s show on Fox News, Zinke said he was not forming SOFA for personal gain, noting that he would not be taking any type of salary from the organization. “I’m not taking a paycheck, I’m doing this for God and country.” Zinke also has made it a point to emphasize that his issues with the president are not personal, but rather over national security concerns. “We’re going to be very careful in our delivery of message, we want to make sure that everything we say is well-documented … I don’t dislike the president personally, I dislike his policies as commander in chief.”

He said that among his concerns are national security leaks that some have said have come from the White House. He also takes issue with the president making the death of Osama bin Laden into a campaign issue. Appearing on Bryan Williams’ show after the raid, Obama said, “we thought about the fact that if there was a failure here, it would have disastrous consequences for me politically.”

The former head of the U.S. Special Operations Command told the Aspen Security Forum Thursday he fears there could be a misuse of the highly trained specialists. "It's a real danger," retired Adm. Eric Olson said. "They come to be thought of as a utility infielder, sometimes a utility infielder with guns, and they may be asked to solve problems that are not necessarily special operations problems." Olson cited cases of Special Operations Forces being asked to provide security for individuals overseas. The high demand has strained the elite forces. Last year, Olson warned the units were "beginning to show some fraying around the edges."

With the opposition gaining some ground in Syria in its battle to overthrow the Assad regime, some members of Congress are pressing the Obama administration to do more to help the insurgents, who are still not united or well-organized. In a quick interview with CNN's Security Clearance on the sidelines of the security forum, Michael Sheehan, the assistant secretary of defense for special operations, said the potential use of Special Operations Forces in Syria is not a focus of his right now. Sheehan also said there are no U.S. Special Operations Forces in Mali, where internal strife has left the northern part of the country ungoverned and where al Qaeda sympathizers have moved in, a development Sheehan called very troubling. He said the United States is considering options, but no decisions have been made.

Special Operations Forces are at work around the world, Olson's successor, Adm. William McRaven, told CNN's Wolf Blitzer on Wednesday. McRaven said Special Operations Forces are in 79 countries, with the largest contingent in Afghanistan. Sixty-six thousand people are part of Special Operations Command, half of them active forces. Approximately 10,000 to 12,000 are deployed at any given time, with 7,000 currently in Afghanistan and more than 3,000 elsewhere, he said. Sheehan said the forces can operate anywhere and the numbers can range from just one or two in a country to dozens or several hundreds. The goal is to help the host nations handle their own security operations.

The Navy Seals are elite because they only accept based on ability and since White males have the all the advantages they will most likely make up the team.

With affirmative action if there is one minority, a homosexual, black, or woman there it would handicap them but its nothing they can't handle because after all look at their missions as of late?

Intercepting Osama? He's nothing more than a cave dweller living in a mexican mud hut. The US hasn't been challenged since Russia so it can afford to institute affirmative action policies to allow those with inferior abilities to join.

Zinke's a republicon. If he saw Obama walking on water he would ridicule him for not knowing how to swim. I'll wait for someone who is not running a campaign money laundry to raise a legitimate objection.

We have no business intervening like that in Syria. Too costly and not our (*)(*)(*)(*) business. It would endanger our operations in Iraq. That is more important right now. We can't just take unilateral actions when we feel like it just because we think we're "special."
