Interesting, where to begin...

1) Its funny how a person asks "What do blacks want?" And 98% of the responses are from white people who are either overt racists, or people whose focus in life is white pride and reverse discrimination. An Example:
What do black people want?
"A free ride through life, provided by their white victims? "

2) My guess to what "black people want" is to not be accused of being lazy, drug crazed, criminals, who suck at school. As about 50% of the posts in this thread suggested.
That would probably be a good starting point.

It would clearly demonstrate that there are a LOT of people who have strong negative views of blacks.

3) The problems in the black community are ones of poverty. They have nothing to do with race. Poor people in large communities tend to act the same regardless of race. Have you ever seen documentaries or visted the ozarks or the appilachian mountain hillbilly societies? These poor white people are no different from any poor community.
Poor Hispanic communities, poor pacific islander communities, poor native american communities, all exhibit the EXACT same attitudes and negative demographic specs as found in poor black communities. Education, crime, drugs you will find the same %'s in all poor communities regardless of race.


4) The statement that most blacks are bussed to better schools is TOTAL BS btw. This is true in a few pockets around the country, but is not the standard.

5) Sorry to type soo much, you can get back to googling "black crime white victim".

Look, liberals are REALLY lost on this issue. Blacks don't want equality. They already get BETTER treatment than equality. What they want is revenge, against people that did no blacks any harm in most cases. No one in my family had anything to do with slavery or Jim Crowe for instance. In fact my parents marched against Jim Crowe. But, blacks demand hiring preferences over me because of my skin color, reparations from me for someone's else's actions, and then have the nerve to demand that I really, really like all black people- otherwise they will call me racist. Well, guess what, they always talk about wanting special treatment because some people don't like them, poor things while they hate us openly. Well, I don't like them demanding special treatment and spewing hatred about me because of my skin color. So, it is THEIR racism that makes me not like black culture. Further, the things they want revenge for weren't even done to them! In short, they have become what they fought against- racists.

Mainstream black culture is extremely racist, scapegoating anyone with white skin as the source of their problems while they have most of their children out of wedlock, worship thugs, preach misogyny and racial hatred, glamorize drug abuse, glorify violence for its own sake, and make a mockery of public education. They also believe they are superior to whites and do not value anything that is "white." Many blacks are all too happy to say so. The reality is that blacks simply want power and couching it in nonsense like wanting equality is very dangerous because it is encouraging their cultural decline into decadence and encouraging their racism. It has nothing to do with their skin color and everything to do with their rotten, evil culture.

I think the "thug culture" absolutely does a lot of damage to urban youths. Glorifying things such as "gang activity, drugs, promiscuity, etc." can't possibly be beneficial. If anything, it gives youths a reason to stay in the situations they're in.

As far as IX' post, yes...there's always going to be insecure white trash who can't see past the color of a person's skin (just as there's always going to be daishike-wearing pastor spreading white hate, to give themselves power over other black folks). However, I see that less and less. Each generation becomes more and more integrated, and accepting of other races.

But aside from that, it seems that blacks DO enjoy a lot of equality (generally). The problem is how they perceive that equality, and what they do with it.

Of course it is damaging! I don't think many intelligent people, would argue that the current trends in black culture regarding music, aren't damaging! These people glorify things, which shouldn't be glorified! They glorify gang life! But the reason these kids are taken in by this, is because they see no other way out!

I have an easy question for all the racists here(and yes saying black people need to stop smoking crack and get jobs makes you a racist)! Do you think being born into poverty makes it more likely that you will live your life out in poverty?

I think that is the important question! When I see parts of poor black culture, I see a group of people trapped in a situation they have no idea how to get out of! You make it seem that they want the government to take care of them, and live their life poor! If you actually believe that there is no dialogue to be had! Many inner city poor people see only a few ways out! Drugs, athletics, and rap are for many the only realistic way they see of escaping the terrible situations they are born into! So they idolize rappers, because they see someone from their situation who made it out, and they want that!

I don't think anyone would disagree with this, but if you look at the trend of single mother and no father for black children, you would realize that the culture is doing a great job of locking itself into poverty because they are apathetic to the situation. If the attitude is going to remain resentment and hopelessness, no amount of external aid is going to fix this problem.

Rather than looking at the thug culture itself, the only way we'll see any change is knowing WHY that thug culture thrives amongst the urban youth... interestingly enough it's subsidized primarily by suburban white kids (that's more a how than a why).
