even you would not have the temerity to pretend the Tuskegee Syphilis Study, as has been reported (and for which President Clinton apologized) was not factual. for 40 years that unconscionable action was taken against African-Americans, without the subjects' or the public's knowledge. those are facts. so, why would it be so unfathomable to question whether the government had also conducted similar tests, again using African-American subjects, to evaluate the effects of HIV. it is not that long a reach ... but one you could not see if your head were in the sand, or some other dark orifice

that you cannot see a similarity between the Tuckegee Syphilis Study - which was undisclosed for 40 years - meaning there was NO PUBLIC EVIDENCE of that nefarious action against BLACK-only citizens for 40 years, and the potential that a similar HIV experiment could have been administered, again using black subjects - for which evidence has still not been publicly released, tells me that the orifice from which you need to extricate your head is not in the ground.

we did not "invent" syphilis either we tested it, not unlike the nazis, on an ostracized race.
so, if anything i would be able to fanthom that HIV testing could have similarly occurred with black subjects.
but while i personally do not believe that happened, i can see the potential. even more, i can see an African American contemporary of the Tuckegee subjects, who has ministered to black folks oppressed during the jim crow era, willing to believe that the United States is capable of such heinous behavior ... what is past is prelude
