Business as usual in DC.
I hope that cop throws his beer in obama's racist face.
At least, water.

Good on you, Billy.

INSTEAD, he took the side of the black man, making it a racial issue with his additional comments.

I just hope he hasn't set our nation back as far as I think he probably has.

I do know that he's just lost the support of policeman, firefighters, paramedics, and other public servants across the nation. AND many, many others. He's best "stop the bleeding" by apologizing. I don't know if he's man enough to do that, though. In fact, he continues to make it worse by additional comments.

IMHO, Barack Obama is a dangerous man. And I can't wait for the next presidential election to get him out of there.
Well...yeah, it was really stupid of Obama to take sides when he didn't know the full story. He really put his foot in it by jumping in fully clothed, and now has to suffer the embarrassment of apologising. I think he'll be more careful in future.

As for getting him out next election...we'll see, we'll see.

how the hell can a police officer be at fault, when there are reports of a break in, and the officer finds a man in the residence, who is yelling at him?

yea..the cop should just have walked away...ok..goodnight Sir. unreal

http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/07/01/racial.profiling/

32 million Americans report that they have been the victim of racial profiling at some point in their lives. And anybody who has ever lived in a major city knows it happens all the time.

The UN, Amnesty International, the ACLU, etc, etc, have been lobbying the US to take action to prevent racial profiling agressively lately. 35 states still don't even have laws prohibiting racial profiling in any case except a traffic stop. So, racially profiling in any other circumstance is not even against the law in 35 states.

I was hopeful that this incident would spark a renewed resolution to resolve the problem, but the Republicans made that too politically sensitive of a topic for Obama to tackle.
You must mean the racial screaming from <<<<<<<<<Mod Edit - bypassing profanity filter>>>>>>>>>>Gates, you mean that kind of profiling?

Because people like Gates claim it, it doesn't make it true, as all of America seen this unfold. The racist nuts, including our own president, jumped all over this thing as being racial profiling, so yes, what did we learn?

The use of profanity is prohibited.
We employ an automatic word censor to block offensive language. Using symbols to get past the word censor is prohibited. The practice of phonetically spelling or otherwise alternately spelling cursewords is likewise prohibited. The posting of nudity and other offensive images not associated with a true political topic is prohibited. Moderators are charged with enforcing this policy. Continued disregard towards this guideline may result in being banned from this board.

You gusy are amazing.

White guy stands up for himself to cops - stockpiles guns and he's a hero.

Unions are communists - unless they back a white cop accused of racism...
Some people should never be allowed near a computer, ignorance is no excuse.

Nice try. We got a glimpse about how Obama really feels towards cops, and how he jumps to Gates defense automatically without knowing or caring about the facts. He set racial progress back between cops and blacks, and now many black people will wear Obama's statements like a badge of honor. They already are!

And you're going to say that all misbehaved and now it's settled. BS! The cop did nothing wrong and all cops are saying so. Obama is the biggest offender by a long shot, he has hurt more people than Gates ever could. He had a half-a$$ed apology that we will not easily forget.

By saying we should move on to more important matters is nonsense too. Race relations is very important. Cops doing their job is very important. When it comes to the safety of my family, not much else matters.

One question, had this been Bush, then what? Uh huh, I thought so.

Nope, there actually would not have been. When you know the facts you know that Gates was verbally assaulting the officer. The fact that he is black does not obsolve him of all responsibility!!!
