Thread: upside down mountain..

sorry I lost the article but I was reading this morning about a mountain in France where the the rocks on top of the mountain are older then on the bottom according to geologists..supposedly it flipped over thousands or maybe millions of years ago due to an eruption..
now all these cults and religious groups are camping out at the base of the mountain waiting for December 21st 2012 for some kind of miracle to happen..
last count was 20,000 and all those crackers are driving the local frogs nuts..
I joke, I joke!! I'm a cracker too..
one cult says the aliens are going to pop out of the mountain on that day and start a new world order..others say it's the safe place to be when the chit hits the fan on that day..all I can say is thank god I don't live there and have to put up with all these nuts "oops, I mean people"
at least the local business are making a few bucks and when that date passes their town will get back to normal..I lived in France for a few months and I can tell you first hand locals in small towns get ticked off about this kind of stuff..how would you feel if 20,000 people camped out where you live..
it'll be interesting to see how the government deals with it....

An estimated 20,000 New Age believers who say the “upside down” mountain is home to aliens who will rescue them from an impending apocalypse have saturated a small French commune near the foot of the picturesque Pic de Bugarach.
The Independent reports the growing flock, who locals refer to as “esoterics,” believe the world will come to an end on December 21st, 2012. They also reportedly believe that the unique mountain is in fact home to a race of alien beings that will emerge to rescue the gathered humans and transport them to a new civilization.
Pic de Bugarach has long been famous because rock samples taken from its peak are actually older than points measured at lower elevation. Scientists say that is because when the 1,230 meter mountain erupted its peak flipped upside down before crashing back down upon the mountain’s base. The mountain is said to have played a role in inspiring everything from Jules Verne’s “Journey to the Center of the Earth,” to Steven Spielberg’s “Close Encounters of the Third Kind.”



The BBC reports that the French government is concerned about mass suicides taking place near Pic de Bugarach in advance of the December 21 date and that there have been reports of “strange rituals” taking place there as well.
The Independent notes some other rumors surrounding Pic de Bugarach, which included speculation that both Israel’s Mossad and Nazis have both performed “mysterious” excavation digs there. Up to 100,000 visitors are expected to flock to the scene before December 21.

You should have done some quick checking on this one Charlie .As should these French snail eaters and garlic stinkers .
That mountain has been geologically matched with one of the Greek islands and reached France via air when a huge volcano blew it several million years ago .
They estimate that when the mountain set off from Greece it was several times the present size but unsurprisingly dribbled debris along a flight path which they are now trying to map via rock samples .
Amazingly , the story is big in Greece and a group are treating their mountain like the Elgin Marbles -- they want it back .
Quite right .

I'm looking fwd to all the hysteria that is going to occur B4 Dec 21, 2012, this year!!

Ppl will start thinking more about their mortality and their helplessness while living on this earth. Of course there will also be those shaking their fists and cursing God in their rebellion against any such tribulation, similar to what is said in the Book of Rev.
