Thread: Catholic, why are you such?

    Catholic, why are you such?

    1. I was raised that way.
    2. I've "seen" Christ during communion, and my son witnessed this, independently.
    3. It may be the world's most ethnically and culturally diverse church.
    4. I can go to mass in many parts of the world where I don't speak the language and still get something out of it.
    5. The church embraces science and discoveries.
    6. No tithing! The church recognizes its role in the modern world is not the same as it was in Moses' time.

This is the most typical way. Indoctrination.

Should this comment be in the Conspiracy forum? spooky indeed. please share this experience. What did Jesus look like?

    3. It may be the world's most ethnically and culturally diverse church.
I agree. a lot of people from all walks of life are duped daily.

    4. I can go to mass in many parts of the world where I don't speak the language and still get something out of it.
What exactly are you getting out of it? how to be a good person? that's not enough.

    5. The church embraces science and discoveries.
Why not embrace the Commandments of GOD

    6. No tithing! The church recognizes its role in the modern world is not the same as it was in Moses' time.
So where does the Catholic church get it's money then?

    1. Perhaps. A better term is "introduction". The sacrament of Confirmation occurs when the child is old enough to think for themselves and no one put a gun to my head.
    2. I feel no need to elaborate on my personal experience. Suffice it to say that it confirmed my belief that the Catholic celebration of mass is in general accordance with God's instruction, Exodus 36:8-39:43.
    3. Not worthy of comment.
    4. Actually it is, but again, that's not my reason.
    5. I do.
    6. Mostly from weekly offerings that pay for salaries, maintenance, utilities, and of course charitable works of the congregation and diocese. Capital improvements are typically done by a fairly intense funding drive. Priests are sworn to a life of relative poverty.

Actually it was done at your shortly after your birth when your parents took you to the Priest to be blessed and you got an ash cross put on your forehead. or do they use water instead? one of those. either way, it was an indoctrination ceremony. you were not able to think for yourself yet.

That verse and chapter in no way shape or form explains Catholic Mass. It's speaking on the how the Israelites built the Tabernacle to the Lord. Jump back to Exodus 35 for a better understanding.

the Vatican don't operate like the Tabernacle of Israel did in the past. far from it. more like a money house.

    4. Actually it is, but again, that's not my reason.
NO, it's not enough. being a good person is only one aspect of following GOD's word. Being aware of who Satan is, is another aspect, why doesn't the Pope teach that?
    5. I do.
One of his commandments is for his followers of his word is to not bear false witness. Now, if you agree with this Commandment, shouldn't you be condemning the Pope for bearing false witness?

Plush Poverty. nothing "poor" about the Pope's and Bishops and Priests lifestyles. nothing.

    1. You're confusing Baptism (done soon after birth), Ash Wednesday (an annual obligation), and Confirmation (13 or 14 year's old). If you insist on hatin' on Catholics, at least get your facts straight.
    2-5. Ditto.

You're confused again. the indoctrination begins at that time. Which is not even the set time when child should be baptized anyway because there is no set age for baptism, That's just a Catholic tradition, not a Biblical one.

You hate the truth and that's why you feel offended. because nothing I'm saying is a lie. I'm backing it up with scripture. not man-made Laws and statutes handed down by the Pope. He is not the go-between that stands between me and the Most High.

But we're not talking about baptism. Again, no one put a gun to my head when I decided on my own to be confirmed.

I don't "feel" offended by your attacks on Catholics. If I sense any emotion at all it is humor.

If all your Priests teach you is to be good, they are fools. For GOD warns us to be ready at anytime for his return, not if you'll die any day. that's backwards.

We have to live as if the Lord was coming today. And if you don't have the instructions on when and what will happen prior to and upon his arrival, you will be lost. but at least you will be good, right? wrong.

the Pope should be teaching his followers who Satan is, and he's not some imaginary cartoon with horns and a long tail and a pitchfork.

Revelations tells us who Satan is and where he is in the world today. Why wouldn't the Pope or his Priest tell yall that if you're suppose to be the beacon of Christianity?
We do study the whole Bible. We also are to be always be prepared, that is why you live a Christian life as best you can, because at anytime the Saviour may return to judge us.

You, however seem to have a preoccupation with the end times. In my personal opinion I think the end times are not to far away, I base this on my observations, however even if I did not think they were to far I would still try and be a good Christian, for I never know when my own time could be up.

Once again you are taking the Bible and putting your own spin on it. Self interpretation is warned of in the Bible.
What institution compiled the Bible and guarded it from the moment it was compiled up until the reformation?.
If the Bible was a threat to THE CHURCH then why did they not do away with it long ago?.
Wake up to the anti-Catholic propaganda you have been indoctrined with. Your faith came from this Church you now attack. Why are you so prepared to attack the Catholic Church, when I am sure there is Protestant churches that disagree with your theology far more than the Catholic Church. Every Protestant church has bits of Catholicism in it, they just leave out the bits that they don't like. For every doctrine or dogma you disagree with that the Catholic Church has there is a Protestant church that accepts it.

For the record, I have no problems with any main stream protestant church; in fact I have tremendous respect for many of them. For example, Southern Baptists, their preachers don't mind "telling it like it is". I wish more Catholic Priests would do that.

If you are calling my responses "attacks on Catholics" you are indeed offended. Your emotions are typed out in words..

I'm merely questiong the validity of the Pope and the Cathlolic Church since this institution claims to represent Christ and the teachings of the Holy Bible. Which is not doing.

If you feel that my inquisitive questions are "attacks" then back them up with facts and you won't feel that way.
