The Bible’s unique construction proves that it
    is the Word of God.
The Bible was written by at least 40 different authors
representing some 19 different occupations (shepherd, soldier,
farmer, fisherman, tax collector, medical doctor, king, etc.)
who lived during a period covering some 1,600 years. That is
approximately 50 generations. The first 39 books of the Bible
were written in the Hebrew language over a period of about
1,000 years. There was then a 400-year gap when no Scriptures
were written. After that, the last 27 books of the Bible were
written in the Greek language during a period covering roughly
50 years. The writers of the Old Testament could not have
collaborated with one another and the writers of the New
Testament could not have collaborated with those of the Old
    Testament.

Yet the product is one book that fits together perfectly ...

They voted on the best-fitting texts they could when creating the canon, yet even with that it's not a very good fit at all. The distortions done to try and make the solar messiah sound like something prophesied in the (canonised) Old Testament are plentiful and frankly painful to consider in light of how many people blindly accept it. Then there's the old Yahweh vs the new & improved Christ Cult Yahweh.. Sheesh.

Why do Christians claim that the Bible "was written over such and such many years" when, in reality, the Bible was COMPILED from books that were already written?

Why do they lie? If I didn't know anything else about logic, I wouldn't believe in Christianity SIMPLY because those who propose it tell outright lies to try to back it up.

The Bible even says not to lie, yet away they go. It's ridiculous.

Its not so much lieing but honestly believing it.

A a collection of books which were canonized by man, leaving a great many omitted from the final work, and those that are included are edited.

There is no way a reasonable man can accept it as being the absolute truth without being dishonest with themselves.
Just because I find your religion silly does not mean I am an atheist.

It makes no difference if they actually believe it. Uttering a falsehood is despicable even when the person truly believes what he is saying. A declaration of any sort is an explicit claim to having that knowledge. If it is wrong, then the person did not have that knowledge, and thus the statement is a lie and the speaker alone is responsible for this lie. I truly wish the punishments from the Bible were still in use today and we could stone these liars to death right beside the sluts, thieves, and murderers, the company in which they belong.

It was compliled from books written over the course of about 4,000 years.

Whats so hard to get about that?

The first books were written in Moses' time, and the last in shortly after Jesus' death & resurrection, and some were written in between.

It sounds like your a hater trying to create an argument where there is none

If the books were compiled from a list of ALL BOOKS EVER WRITTEN then it is not worth mentioning that "it fits together perfectly" as evidence for anything. It fits together perfectly by design... because those who picked the books weren't going to pick one that contradicted the others. DUH!

To present that as something amazing that proves holy intervention is a lie.

And if you don't know it's a lie, you are still as guilty for not knowing. Learn, or keep your mouth shut.

No, it fits together fine because the successors of the apostles - the bishops - were guided by the Holy Spirit when they canonized the Bible. DUH

    Oh... could they not read?

Was the holy spirit wiping their asses for them too? Get off it, people. Men did this. And you worship men.

I'll let you discuss that with God when you meet him.
I will not engage a foul mouthed hateful person such as yourself.

Men edited and redacted the bible to be as internally consistent as it is. It's still far from perfectly so. Who says god guided them? The men who did it.
Hello! I'm from Europe, the place where history comes from.
