This is completely ahistorical. The collapse of the Western Roman Empire in 476(not 475) was merely a symbolic date. The boy Emperor Romulus Augustulas(of all names) was deposed by the German Barbarian Master of the Soldiers Odacer. I guess this throws off your whole 150 years from the collapse of the empire to the birth of Islam conspiracy theory. By that time though, much of the imperial power of the emperor had already been lost. Emperor Zeno in Constantinople, didn't approve of Odoacer's actions, and sent the German tribe, the Ostrogoths into Italy to unseat Odacer. Unfortunately for the Emperor, the Ostrogoths under King Theodoric decided to take Italy for themselves. While the Ostrogoths where Christians, they where not Catholics, but believed in Arianism. In the middle of all this the Catholic Church made an ally with the Clovis, King of the Franks.
