Default Prophet Mohamed

I'm sorry if this topic has been discussed before. I haven't been here in a long time. My question, or rather, point of contention, is this. All the media from far left to far right call Mohamed a prophet. I've often read and heard on TV reference to the Prophet or the Prophet Mohamed. This was during the whole Danish cartoons incident. At certain times the media would have to describe what the cartoons were, (while covering the riots), at this point almost all of the journalists said they were derogatory references to the prophet Mohamed.

I have no complaint in calling Mohamed Mohamed. I have a very a big problem with calling him prophet. I and 5 billion people in the world DO NOT believe he is a prophet. To everyone except Muslims, he is a complete fraud. But this also points out the inherent bias in western journalism. When was the last time you heard a journalist, when referring to Jesus, call him the son of God. Answer never.

Muslims call him a prophet but if they were more honest with themselves they would call him God, because that's what they've turned him into, just as the Cathlics have made Mary into God...

Muslims always follow Mohamed's name with 'peace be upon him', but no Western media outlet does that. Mohamed is always called the Prophet Mohamed by Muslims, calling him the Prophet Mohamed is simply respecting Muslim beliefs. Just as calling Jesus, Jesus Christ, is showing respect to Christian beliefs.

When does a news outlet use the term "Jesus Christ". I can't recall ever hearing it.... usually that's only a term used by believers.

I think it has a lot to do with the fact that no one is named Jesus other than Jesus. There are some Mexicans but they're pronounced "hay-soose". There are tons of Muhammeds. So saying Muhammed is ambiguous. In the news we hear about a lot of terrorists named Muhammed, famous Muslims named Muhammed, and ordinary people named Muhammed. Seems to be the most common Muslim name. But there is only one that is considered a prophet (thankfully Muslims, like Mormons, think there will be no more prophets so we'll never have multiple prophets named Muhammed).

Default Is it Mohamed or Muhammed?

It doesn't really matter. Muhammed/Mohamed is also a common last name.

I'm not sure. Same with Moslem or Muslim.
I wonder if its regional. Definitely has its roots in the fact that we translated them from a different alphabet.
But it's usually pronounced about the same.

Some Jews thought Jesus was a god, too. Apotheosis was common in those times and in those places. Mary's deification came later. Christians pay unknowing respect to Mithras and Isis when they pray to Jesus and Mary. Everyone who uses the word Amen at the end of their prayers (ancient Hebrew) may well be sending their thoughts to Amen-Ra, the great Egyptian creator-sun god.
