Default Hey America....try putting the Christ back in christian

You know, I hear a lot about George Jr. being a born again Christian...baloney!

The Jesus I know held the poor in high esteem...remember the story of Lazarus? Remember "the meek" inheriting the earth...he wasn't taking about the Donald Trumps of this world....

George Bush gives millions in tax breaks to the rich, and is presently: cutting housing subsides for the poor/working poor--homeless children don't keep this "Christian" up at night....He's cutting education budgets to...you guessed it, the poorest schools, possibly on the misguided premise that they're used to doing without....He's cutting budgets for medical needs for the elderly and disabled....He's destroying whole swaths of the nature that God created and celebrates throughout the Bible. Bush is cutting budgets for already understocked food pantry's...Food pantry's, for pete's sake! And he is personally responsible for the deaths of hundreds, perhaps thousands of Iraqi babies, children, and grandmothers.....I guess "thou shalt not kill" doesn't apply to Muslims in his religion.....

Why aren't more Christians in America doing something? Just because Jesus is the Lamb of God, doesn't mean you have to be sheep.

SPEAK UP!! FIGHT BACK AGAINST INJUSTICE! For pity's sake===literally
if you are a true Christian, it's your job, darn it! Write George Bush an e-mail tonight and tell him to restore the housing funding for the poor, don't let one more child sleep in the street. Tell him to restore funding for work programs for teens! Tell him anything, but don't just sit there and do nothing...if you do, you're making your religion worthless by all talk and no walk.

Hard words to hear, but if that will make "Sunday" Christians start living up to the name "Christ". If you continue to do nothing, than I want no more to do with your version of Christianity....What would Jesus do>>>he'd get off his duff and write George Bush now!! Today!!!

Dusty,

I don't even know where to begin... there are soo many problems with your argument/plea. I'll try to wean it down to just a few comments.

1. You've just condemned every leader who's headed a government responsible for one innocent death. If that is how God will judge us, I hope suicide will be sinless.

2. A latest death toll in Iraq placed it at 5,500 citizen deaths. How many would have died under another year of rule by Saddam? I guess God doesn't give credit in this area...?

3. "don't let one more child sleep in the street" rofl. What utopian country do you live in? Your naivety is charming, but you have to lay off the accusations if you expect people to live up to your standards. Because THEY WILL NEVER BE MET!

Well, let me address your points old soul.

1.) Mahatma Gandhi lead the people of India to self rule without ever raising a fist in anger. So if there is a God, and it is to judge us, Gandhi is chillin behind the pearly gates. As for the other leaders, I remind them of one simple axiom, Violence begets violence.

2.) The slaughter of innocents is NOT justifiable to TRY to bring self rule to a people. If they want it bad enough, they will, like EVERY OTHER FREE NATION bring it upon themselves. You can wrap yourself in the security blanket belief that we are the bringers of democracy, but the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

3.) Its not a matter of Utopia, its a fact that one in five AMERICAN CHILDREN live below the poverty line in this once great nation of ours. That figure FAR surpasses ANY OTHER first world nation. Now it is unrealistic to believe that we can all be provided for, but when your azz is dead last, living in the richest nation in the world, their is something VERY WRONG.

So to you, old soul, I would suggest that you stop and engage the organ you may have forgotten. The one residing between your ears.

The Bandit Strikes Again !!

"Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius -- and a lot of courage -- to move in the opposite direction." -Albert Einstein-
