True, it's not violent fundamentalism... but for crying out loud! I never expected Buddhists to be the type to want to push their religion into a Constitution!

Buddhists are people too. Somewhere around here is a thread with a link to Buddhists trying to justify violence. Quite a weird sight.

That's true. People are sometimes prone to behave this way. It's sort of a Darwinian survival of the fittest - they push, so you push harder.

Default .

Odd indeed. Fundamentalism is not a Buddhist trait. Attachment is a bad, even if said attachment is to Buddhism. Tolerance is a key precept in Buddhism and the campaign to make it the national religion is directly opposed to tolerance.

This sounds more like political activism than fundametalism.

TRUE fundamentalism (in most religions) has very little to do with politics.

We can talk about Theravada Buddhism, if you wish...... :eyebrow:

Default ...

This is likely to make things worse. Apparently some Muslims killed Buddhists in alleged retaliation for a bombing of a mosque...
I'll never understand why it is religious freaks feel the need to take out vengeance by killing random people who they associate with the people they want vengeance on. How is it justice to kill innocents?
