The ACLU is a two faced organization, on one hand they do fight for legitament concerns such as free speech being restricted. On the other hand, as I mentioned earlier, they seem to be radical in their actions against religion in numerous cases.

Atheists also seem to want to remove Christian symbols from different places, such as US currency or the Pledge of Allegiance.

What gets me is how religious people are in fact ignorant... ignorant concerning Scripture, of all things.

Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr are ignorant? You should stop stereotyping people.

This country is not God’s country. Nowhere in Scripture or prophecy is spoken of some country that is specially blessed by God, to which we should pledge our loyalty; no political party that we should support that will forward God’s agenda.

Freedom of religion?

Where do you guys get this stuff. <--- Rhetorical question, as I know where, but it’s not Biblical or Christian.

Actually, the big right-wing flag-waving “churches” as are the evil (yes, truly evil) powers that presently run this country/world are spoken of clearly in the Scripture and in Revelations. Sorry, they’re quite opposite of what a religious person would think, but as is stated, except for the very elect, many will be fooled.

Another uneducated stereotype. What you are implying is that anyone who is patriotic and is strong in their faith is evil. The book of Revelations doesn't describe any leader in particular, not the current president, or anyone in the foreseeable future. You can believe whatever theory you want to, but Revelations doesn't point to any specific leaders.

I suggest that you religious people do some research into the history of religion, especially the “Christian religion”.

I already have, thank you.

I suggest you religious people stick your nose in your Bibles, cause you’ll find that there is no “Christian religion”... Christian and religion = oxymoron. It’s like calling a restaurant a culinary school, or a menu a cookbook. (I don’t expect you to understand)

Why do you hate Christianity so much? Have you been spending too much time in the Soviet museum lately?

Come out of your babylonian trinity-SUNday-xmas-easter-tammuz-on-the-cross-etc-etc harlot churches, stop listening to your false prophet blind leaders, and stop the beast, cause that’s what you’re doing.

Worshiping the beast? Who's that supposed to be? Enlighten me.

Not that I would expect anyone to listen... just thought it was right to put it out there.

Peace,

The only reason people won't listen to you is because you are clearly anti-religion. Try using logic and facts to back-up your points instead of hatred and perhaps someone will listen you.

I’m was going to do a point-for-point, but realized it’d be a waste of time.

If someone thinks that being a great american and having trust in God are compatible, we’re so far apart as to our understanding of Scripture that an intelligent discussion on the matter would be impossible.

Let’s just agree to disagree.

Peace,
Marko

If so, why?

Not necessarily. I just don't panic if there is a cross on government property or a Christian symbol in a war-memorial. I believe liberals are taking seperation of Church and State too far. A realistic purpose of the seperation of church and state is making sure that no faith is enforced on the American people. That is it's important role in America, not to strip every memorial and historical monument of it's Christian symbols. The seperation of Church and State also doesn't mean that America should be more of an atheist nation, as some people are attempting to create.

I favor a country which leans toward Christianity, not to enforce the religion on the people, but to base certain policies on it(i.e. abortion, self-defense etc.).

Good to hear that you're against forcing the Protestant notion of marriage on people whose religions have a different definition of it. Defining a marriage between one man and one woman violates the First Amendment guarantee of Free Exercise of Religion when it comes to traditional Mormons and Muslims, among others. Such a law would be unconstitutional.

There is a difference between making people believe in a religion and holding reasonable Christian values. Establishing marriage between a man and a women is simply showing good, family oriented values.

there are no reasonable values that are unique to christianity. limiting rights and privileges to heterosexual adults is unconstitutional, oppressive and doesnt even benefit heterosexuals in any way, other than satisfying the bigots.

do you know what the above statement means? there is no "mostly unique;" thats like saying "sometimes always," its an oxymoron - its either one or the other.
You are incorrect, per google the phrase mostly unique comes up with over 3 million hits making the use of the phrase not so unique. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...=Google+Search

The Muslim definition of marriage is also good, family oriented values. What you're exhibiting here is Christofascism.

Amen and a half. It's weird, isn't it, how the same people who claim that mixing religion and state aren't an imposition are the same ones who impose their beliefs on others via the law but turn around and claim they aren't doing just that.

Crazy.
