I think it's human nature to expect more from others than they're willing to do. It's soooooo much easier to tell someone to play nice than to actually play nice all the time. Christians have the same problem. Their religion tells to turn the other cheek, but how often do you hear one return an insult with an insult? It's going to happen, because people want others to be ideal, but living up to it takes work and people don't like work.

I here I'm talking about a double standard. One moment telling people they're bad if the try and spread their beliefs whatever the are, but then going on about how atheism is the only true belief. Or that they should never vote for a candidate based on religion, but not holding themselves to that should an atheist come along, that sort of thing.

It is hard for me or any atheist to "spread their beliefs" as we don't have any beliefs to spread. We just fail to see any evidence for those who believe in Jesus, Allah, Ganesha, Thor, Zeus, etc.
