No. We don't likely know each other. I'm new to the forum. I have had a couple of friendly connections with LDS posters on religion threads in other forums.

I think the problem is not polygamy per se--but having underage wives and incest.

I also agree but then I have to look at things with multiple perspectives. In many countries women are married and having children by fifteen and there is no problem there. In our own history with a limited lifespan a girl was married at twelve and had three children by fifteen and that was in the "civilized" nations. Now and days it is illigal in this country to have underage wives as that is set at 18 so yes in this case it was unacceptable yet in some places it might not have been.

Of course with the 1890 manifesto The LDS church officially banned the practice of polygamy.

First off they are called Garments and if you want to discuss them use their proper names or I won't. Garments are special symbols of covenants made within the temple. That is all you need to know.

Angry Poligamy

Qestion?

I know Brigham Young was desperate for money, to help his people. He knew that the only way to get a significant amount of money, was to get it from the federal government and that was by making Utah a state.
Our tax money was important for Utah's survival. He was willing to renounce poligamy to further his determination to make his religion survive.

We hear how in Texas they spent 14 million dollars on this latest fiasco. There are over 100,00 poligamist in multiply states. Over a 100 million dollars have been spend on welfare for these mens families over 100 years. By the end of this century they should be close to a million in population. How long do we let men who deliberate have wives and children that he can not support and purposely expect his wives as a policy to get money from the state. from the counties, and federal governments. This is a huge racket for lazy men and women to ripe off of tax payers.

The mothers apply for welfare, foodstamps, medicade etc.
Tax payers over time will be paying for poligamy in the billions by the end of this century. Their children are uneducated to a level that they can not funtion in society or take care of themselves. The women are the same deal unfunctionable except to breed more babies then put them on welfare train the young one to get married and go on welfare. Their are no senior citizen mothers to be seen. They must die young after so much breeding. The mental cost for passing children around til they don't know who their biological parents. Let alone the sexual abuses of children. This problem is growing bigger and bigger. So they live on the principle that tax payers will pay for children the men cannot support let alone the women. So that is their policy god will have the tax payers pay for your food, medical care, etc.

MY question since the mormons brought this onto the american tax payers. These groups are directly linked to the LDS church. Should the LDS Church pay for reparation to the abused women and children that were kicked to the road after they are used, and no longer wanted.

As a tax payer I don't want to give them money. I want them to be respondsible to pay their own way and educate their child well enough to support them selves.

It not just a matter of us leaveing you alone. You want all of us taxpayers to pay for your expense. Have the LDS church pay for reparations for these people. Make them own up to this massive tragity they inflicted on people then dumped them. When you start it you should pay to help clean it It's like a super fund toxic site we have to clean up.
up.

Is it true that Mormons believe their are more than one God?

Is it true that Joseph Smith stole many ceremonies from the Masons and the Church had to change some of the ceremonies?

Is it true that if you make it to the Celestial Kingdom of Heaven that you get to rule your own world?

Is it true that Joseph Smith taught that the Garden of Eden was located in America?

Is it true that you call your god Elohim?

Did the founder of the LDS church (Joseph Smith) ever say: “I will be to this generation a second Mohammed, whose motto in treating for peace was ‘the Alcoran [Koran] or the Sword.’ So shall it eventually be with us—‘Joseph Smith or the Sword!’ ???
