Default Hello folks

I'm a Buddhist. I have a completely different point of view on the topic. I'm also new.

I'm going to read the entire thread and I'll come back with a more complete comment soon.

In the meantime, if there are any questions, I'll respond to the best of my ability.

Default Hello

I'm a new poster. I've been a practicing Buddhist for over twenty years. I was raised Roman Catholic.

I'm not sure what I have to offer the conversation. It seems a polite, intellectual conversation.

I would not consider myself 'religious'. I consider myself a devoted student of Buddhist meditation and philosophy.

I moved five years ago to be closer to my teacher and spiritual community. It is safe to say I have been immersed in the Buddhist community for a long time.

I spent about five years after I left the Catholic Church investigating other religions.

I am interested in conversations about religion.

Unfortunately, religion has always played a role in politics--whether by design or by circumstance.

I look forward to getting to know you all and contributing to the topic.

I was recently posting (one week only) at another political forum and appreciate the care that people appear to take in posting with each other.

This is established.

What sir, do you think happens to people when they die?
When we die I should say.

There is no religion that says "nothing happens"
All religions incorporate some sort of doctrine about what happens to the soul.

Islam, Judaism and Christianity all believe in a Judgment by our God.

Some religions believe in reincarnation.

Essentially this is really the most important question we all must deal with
at some point in time. What happens to us when we die?

So are you non-religious or truly Atheist?
In my case, it is in my will that I will be buried at sea,I love the sea and eating sea food, so its payback time for me.

But I think you are referring to my "soul", well the fish can eat my shoes too.

OK, so your a double soul person, who would feed the fish one soul, which you walked on
all your life, yet the other soul, you gave away and abandoned.

At least your honest.
