First, that's illogical. Refusing to make a statement about religion neither supports nor attacks religion or atheism or anything else. Because the coins don't mention apples, can we assume that the state hates apples or supports apple atheism?

Second, that's a weird argument to make. Putting the words on in the first place isn't promoting religion, but removing it is?

I want it to at least be "some of us trust in god". This is a direct endorsement of monotheistic religions, as Congress mantains the money mints, which is a direct violation of the first amendment.

Apples?...
The attempt to remove this is a support of atheism because it is part of the liberal attempt at political correctness, and why should atheists get their beliefs supported. It was put their when everyone in America was Christian, just in different sects, and was therefore religiously tolerant.

That's still illogical.

Say 100 years ago, everyone agreed that redheads were inferior. So they put on the coinage "Kick a redhead today."

Now, 100 years later, we don't think redheads are any different than anyone else -- and certainly the government has no business supporting or attacking redheads, blonds or anyone else for hair color.

According to your logic, deciding to remove the "kick a redhead" slogan would demonstrate a pro-redhead bias on the part of the government, and thus shouldn't be allowed. Which is plainly silly.

Similarly, going from a pro-religion stance to a neutral one is not supporting atheism; it's correcting a mistake -- taking a situation that is biased in favor of religion and returning it to its correct, unbiased state. Remove the words "In God we trust" from the coins, and the government is simply silent on religion -- neither supporting or attacking it. As it should be. Religion is the private business of the people -- the government should keep its nose out of it.

I don't really think it should be there, but is it worth removing if it's going to cost tons of tax payers dollars to do so? Or is it better to just wait it out until change is obsolete?

Yeah, change will be gone soon enough (hopefully). But what about your national motto? That's indefinite...

Ya I saw that also. Maybe what we need is a new motto. I like.
