You're full of it. The Universal Theory of Gravity. THEORY. Here's another THEORY of Gravity http://space.newscientist.com/article/dn8631.html Last edited by Herkdriver; 05-09-2008 at 01:16 PM. |

Yep, there are many theories, or more precislely hypothesies, floating around regarding the ultimate nature of gravity. All of them explain more than our current theory. And we know that our current theory doesn't explain everything. But none of the better explanations have yet been tested or can yet be tested. Until they áre tested or can be tested, and via their testing can be shown to explain more than our current theory, we have to stick with our current theory. Why would you feel this was a problem? |

Organized religion does suck.
Scientists can suck just as much though. I don't understand the need for a book and rituals to guide you. Why not just a belief in a God? Why the theatrics? Last edited by BigRed; 05-09-2008 at 01:28 PM. |

The expansion of the Universe will not eventually "pull galaxies apart faster than light, causing them to drop out of view.". It has been doing this since galaxies formed. As to it remaining a theory, yes, of course it is. The theory of electromagnetism which powers all your electrical appliances and the quantum theory which runs your computer, are also Theories. Just as the GPS system which you might use if you had a car, relies on Einstein's Special Theory of Relativity to work. Please, get a clue. |

The engineer makes something, then analyzes it. The thing simply obeys the laws of nature, for better or for worse. Engineers solve practical problems. The Big Bang, theory or fact, solves no real World problems, it's just a thumb in the eye of the Religious because Source is Never considered. |

GPS data is inconsistent with predictions from theory of relativity, it more closely resembles Lorentzian Relativity The GPS system has been designed to use Lorentz synchronization. I thought that was common knowledge? Last edited by Herkdriver; 05-09-2008 at 01:50 PM. |

We just don't know about the ones that are gone. Science is limited to what we can observe, but we can propose theories that use mathematics to link what we can see to that which we can't.
