This oft repeated 'beauty' is really Disingenuous.

To get Credibility and more converts for his new 'thing', Big Mo incorporated previous prophets of Judaism and Christianity into his 'revelation'. (read 'delusion'), and declared them also previous prophets of Islam.

That's why in this "They were ours" religion when you convert to islam you are said to 'revert'.

But muslims believe Jesus (etc) was/were a prophets in name only and the shallowest sense.
They do not believe in the Virgin Birth and believe it a affront that God would have a child.

They believe the entire NT is Corrupt (and OT too) and that we don't, in fact, know a single thing Jesus said.

So how can Jesus be a prophet of Islam if they believe we don't know a single thing he said- nor that the NT captures any of it.

These previous prophets and 'god' (and "Corrupted" Holy books) were Co-opted by Mo, and reinterpreted to his New god.. which He Said [only] as the same one.

But did Turn-the-other-Cheek Jesus really become "slay them (unbelievers) wherever you find them" 500 years later?

I don't think so.
And when the practice and belief is so different- it really doesn't matter what they say/if they say it's the same God.

For the people that believe in God there is only one God.
Muslims do believe in Jesus and Moses, they just don't believe that Jesus died on the cross, they believe God saved him and it was someone else that died on the cross. They say not one word in the Koran has been changed whereas the Bible has been changed many times over. From reading I have done they do believe in Mary and that she concieved was a miracle from God, they just don't believe Jesus is the son of God, they say God is God no son or anything else.

Christians are selectively dismissive of the OT also. Seems like Islam is following the same pattern.
The primary difference is that Muhammed was a pagan who was overcome by what he saw as the "beauty" of the monotheistic religions (I guess you have to be in a polytheistic tribe to see beauty in such a thing- I think it's way overrated) and their cultures. Islam was created from a pagan worldview to incorporate the ideals and advantages of monotheism.
Of course Muhammed was one of those people who "talked to God" so obviously he could change the substance of the older books easily.
Most likely, the contradictions were rationalized later as Muhammed most likely never read the OT or the NT and just went by what he got through word of mouth about them.

Of course it's not that much different than how Christianity was primarily picked up on by Greco-Roman pagans and mutated by their point of view. The only difference is that the core prophet type of the religion was a Jew... so the changes were made mostly by secondary sources. Muhammed actively adapted monotheism to the pagan tribal culture that he belonged to...
But it really amounts to about the same thing.
Christian civilization appears to just be an extension of Greco-Roman civilization, while Muslim civilization is an extension of Arab and Persian civilizations.

It's funny that these starters of new religions always think they're going to get mass conversions from the Jews. They always end up with pagan converts instead. Why? Because the old polytheistic religions don't fill as many of the religion niches.
Jews are generally content with what they have.
Same with Hindus. There's a reason Buddhism is big in most of Asia... but not in India.
