For years there have been reports of the Chinese government actively harassing Falun Gong members in the United States. Back in 2002 the House of Representatives unanimously passed a resolution condemning China's meddling in American internal affairs. Which brings me right to the point.
Regardless of where you stand on the practices of Falun Gong, the more pressing concern is China's attempts to directly suppress the activities of American citizens.
While the obvious reaction might be that, "well, America does the same thing in China, isn't this fair game?" That argument would be easily dismissed, since, it could be said, America's meddling seeks to grant more freedoms to Chinese citizens whereas China's intent is to lessen them.
I am curious what this says about China and its continuing push to be a "world leader.
You can check my profile if you are curious about some writing I have done on the topic. I have been kicked off of the forum twice already for innocently posting my link so I will avoid that mistake again. ha ha.
