Many of us (especially Catholics) have doubts as to our own worthiness for heaven. We don't want to push the issue.

A bit of healthy doubt of worthiness is motivating. All I have to do is pay attention to the way my mind changes from moment to moment, and how awareness comes and goes to know that rebirth at the time of dying is not certain.

If the believers struggle with the idea of their worthiness to attain heaven doesn't that say something about a god you put your faith in? i am being serious not sarcastic.
