if you guys are so sure about the existence of heaven, why are you all just as careful as the common atheist when it comes to avoiding death? why arent you guys out doing the most dangerous stuff you can think of to speed up the process and go right to the happiest place in the universe? if not actively putting yourself at risk, id think youd at least not be so cautious...

You're not supposed to do crazy stuff just because you think God will save you. It has to have a purpose. Also suicide is largely prohibited by Christian beliefs... and this would be gray suicide.

Furthermore I think Christians are supposed to have aresponsibility to stick around and do good works and lead by example... although this has popularly been replaced with running around proselytizing... which was always part of it- but certainly modern Christians have largely dismissed good works as nonessential.

So I think a better question would be aimed at those Christians not doing good works and leading by example.

Misguided faith can do that to people. Blind faith without reasoning can do that. The mistake is to lump all people of faith together with that minority of faith adherents who check their brains at the door.

Faith can also bring out the best in some people. Faith and devotion are qualities that are worth cultivating IMO.

I'm not talking about faith in the 72 virgin theory. Faith means a whole different thing to me than to a Christian or a Muslim.
