Default Religion is evil

Religion is just social engineering of the ancient and just another type of control. Has anyone really seen GOD? Be real, those who are religious are just plain ignorant.

Default Haha...

So how do you explain the Universe? Even science can't explain the Big Bang fully. Where did that speck of dust originate that create everything?

I agree that religon is the opiate of the masses, but there must be something that create the Universe initially. I completly disagree with every religion on Earth, with the possible exception of Taoism, but I like to keep my options open. If science can't explain it, religion sure can.

Default Jesus Freaks are strange..........

..........they suffocate kids in blankets, telling them they are being "reborn" - right before they die.
They shoot doctors - to save "children".

Actors Whip Easter Bunny at Church Show
Thu Apr 8,11:08 AM ET
GLASSPORT, Pa. - First, the Passion of the Christ. Now, the torment of the Easter Bunny?

It may not have been as gruesome as Mel Gibson's movie, but many parents and children got upset when a church trying to teach about Jesus' crucifixion performed an Easter show with actors whipping the Easter bunny and breaking eggs.
People who attended Saturday's show at Glassport's memorial stadium quoted performers as saying, "There is no Easter bunny," and described the show as being a demonstration of how Jesus was crucified.

Melissa Salzmann, who brought her 4-year-old son J.T., said the program was inappropriate for young children. "He was crying and asking me why the bunny was being whipped," Salzmann said.

Patty Bickerton, the youth minister at Glassport Assembly of God, said the performance wasn't meant to be offensive. Bickerton portrayed the Easter rabbit and said she tried to act with a tone of irreverence.
"The program was for all ages, not just the kids. We wanted to convey that Easter is not just about the Easter bunny, it is about Jesus Christ," Bickerton said.

Performers broke eggs meant for an Easter egg hunt and also portrayed a drunken man and a self-mutilating woman, said Jennifer Norelli-Burke, another parent who saw the show in Glassport, a community about 10 miles southeast of Pittsburgh.

"It was very disturbing," Norelli-Burke said. "I could not believe what I saw. It wasn't anything I was expecting."

Default Geez...

I'm a fool for christ, and perhaps a little strange, but come on, even though im younger than most, i know what is appropriate, what is peaceful and im at least a little knowledgable about what might be best for the people.
There are some sick idiots out there, who are confused and shouldn't be able to be proclaiming such innappropriate actions...

Either we have troll here, or FreeChina is just writing up a mighty argument to show us how religion is evil. I hope it is the latter.

I find the Big Bang theory a lot more believable than creationism. A lot more. I wasn't there, I can't confirm the Big Bang, but neither can you proove God/Gods (if there is a God/Gods) did it.

Of course not.

I agree with you, but I find people who believe in creation often overlook all the evidence of evolution, prehistoric man, ect... (i.e. fossils, and what not) However, I am still sceptical on how could something can be created out of nothing? Otherwise I am totally pro-Big bang and evolution.

Default ICR

There's an institute dedicated to alternative theories supporting creationist viewpoints, while I myself haven't drawn a verdict, there's a lot of evidence fired back from the creationist side in response to the evolutionist side. The biggest I've seen is that creationists accuse the evolutionists of going into their research with presuppositions, as the evolutionists do to the creationists... both are right. Science regarding the origin of life and man has never been unbias in it's research.

Default of course

we can never really know. It's ok if you think religion is evil, it's your opinion and you are entitled to it. It's about faith and trust. I can tell you many occurances i have had when i felt the touch of God. Some people might call it something else like luck or fate(cant really say fate though, cuz that is close religion i think) or a coincidence, but to me, it means a whole lot more. Maybe you havent had that feeling, but Maybe you will.

Default hmm mmm

Yeah, ill agree , ive experienced things that have confirmed my belief in God.
There is no way i can deny Him...
They may seem like coincidences, but they have more meaning than that. They touch you so much more deeply than a mere coincidence.

Default Man will do evil to his fellow man no more...

..cheerfully than when done in the name of religion..."

Organized religion is all about controlling people, and has very little to do with spirituality or worshipping God.
