This debate has strayed into the realm of religion so deeply now that I am thinking about moving this topic to the "religion" forum. It probably will be moved there at some point, I just give a little more time here first.

My own comment about the Wiccan or indeed any religion: Does it really matter if a faith are ancient or just five minutes old as long as it's followers believes in it? Should we not respect any religion regardless?

No, we shouldn't. The age of a religion isn't the question, it's the false claims made by it's believers. Not abstract theological concepts, but historical claims. In the case of Wicca, it's history is a tapestry of lies.

I would respect Christians less if they claimed something as wacky. I would respect Taoists less, etc.
