"Homer and Hesiod have ascribed to the gods all things that are a shame and a disgrace among mortals, stealings and adulteries and deceivings of one another.
Since they have uttered many lawless deads of the gods, stealings and adulteries and deceivings of one another. But mortals deem that the gods are begotten as they are, and have clothes like theirs, and voice and form. Yes, and if oxen and horses or lions had hands, and could paint with their hands, and produce works of art as men do, horses would paint the forms of the gods like horses, and oxen like oxen, and make their bodies in the image of several kinds. The Ethiopians make their gods black and snub-nosed; the Thracians say theirs have blue eyes and red hair. The gods have not revealed all things to men from the begining, but by seeking they find in time what is better. One god, the greatest among gods and men, neither in form like unto mortals nor in thought. . . . He sees all over, thinks all over, and hears all over. But without toil he swayeth all things by the thought of his mind. And he abideth ever in the selfsame place, moving not at all; nor doth it benefit him to go about now hither now thither. "

Interesting,
Even the pagans had a hint of the truth. My theory: After sometime Prophet Adam(peace be upon him) most of humanity went into Paganism until Allah(subhana wa Ta'ala) sent more prophets. Allah(subhana wa Ta'ala) then sent the Ten commandments with Prophet Moses(peace be upon him),etc. Please present more evidence if you have anymore. |

Human history which has been recorded:
The Old Testament the most reliable section of books compared to the New Testament of the Biblia. Pre-Islamic history in Arabia were pagan idols were known to be in the Ka'bah. Sun worshipping in Egypt! Which briefly were worshipping one God and instituted briefly by a Pharoah. etc. By the way, be more specific in your question(s). |

However, we are sure that the Ten Commandments have been revealed. The Litmus Test I am using is Islamic sources. The Islamic sources verify that Prophet Moses(pbuh) existed and it also verifies that he was given the Ten Commandments. Also, you may have to read some Jewish sources to figure out of evrything is historically correct with the accounts of Jewish history. I am looking through the eyes of Islamic sources. That is where my point of derives. Thanks for the clarification. Hasan |
