No. I guess some could have lied. Why would they?

I think these modern studes have ways to filter that out. And why would you want your affiliation to seem silly?
Exept... it's really christians claiming to be atheist, claiming to believe in god to discredit the atheists. Yah!

Is that your theory? Tha't atheists made a mistake or lied?

No theory agent, I just see you here trying to discredit atheists with a poll. It's lame but you get points for the smilies.

I seems pretty obvious to me that the Atheists in this poll were either misidentified or misidentified themselves. Any Atheist that would profess a belief in a god would not be an Atheist. There is a statistic in the full document that I find surprising. 77% of Americans belive that religion causes more problems than it solves. I find that kind of interesting.

I have a question for the religionists.

As an atheist myself, I hold the believe that everyone has the right to practice religion and I will defend that right. I will only express my views when asked to do so(this post being an exception)

Why do atheists always have to be attacked by the believers?

What would you consider this belief?

"I do not know if there is a god, but if there is, I don't believe the church know what the hell they are talking about."

Do you register your religion in the United States? Maybe that's where they got it from and didn't account for people being merely to lazy to change their registered data.

There's no room in the poll for those who are unaffiliated but not religious. The "spiritual but not religious" "God is not an anthropormorphic being" category. Technically they are atheists because they deny the existence of God, but they don't necessarily deny that existence *is* God.
