I don't believe there is any more evidence of God than there is of the invisible pink unicorns that frolic on the surface of Pluto, that's the whole point.

Where does the debate come in?

You see, I've been asking a question for some time with no answer. Why do atheists want to debate the existence of God? Atheist by definition are sure of their position on the matter so what's to be learned? I understand why evangelicals wish to win people over to their side. Why would atheists do the same? This is not a rhetorical question. It's something I've noticed many times. Hence, my question.

When someone takes up the challenge or refutes a point that's already been made in the thread.

I'm sure the reasons vary from person to person.

Well, if evangelicals believe that they are helping to save someone from hell, what are atheists helping people do by convincing them there is no God?

Do you concede that it is possible for something to be proved to one person and not another? For instance, if I saw a "flying saucer", I would undoubtedly have proof for myself, yet no way to convey that proof to you. You could never prove that flying saucers do not exist though. You could never prove it to yourself or anyone else.

And, no one can prove that invisible pink unicorns aren't frolicking on Pluto.
