Default The Sabbath was never changed to Lord's Day(Sunday) evidence

NEHEMIAH 10:32-33

32 ¶ Also we made ordinances for us, to charge ourselves yearly with the third part of a shekel for the service of the house of our God; ( Exodus 30:11-16 )

33 for the showbread, and for the continual meat offering, and for the continual burnt offering, of the sabbaths, of the new moons, for the set feasts, and for the holy things, and for the sin offerings to make an atonement for Israel, and for all the work of the house of our God.

34 And we cast the lots among the priests, the Levites, and the people, for the wood offering, to bring it into the house of our God, after the houses of our fathers, at times appointed year by year, to burn upon the altar of the LORD our God, as it is written in the law:

EZEKIEL 45:

17 And it shall be the prince's part to give burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and drink offerings, in the feasts, and in the new moons, and in the sabbaths, in all solemnities of the house of Israel: he shall prepare the sin offering, and the meat offering, and the burnt offering, and the peace offerings, to make reconciliation for the house of Israel.

THE EZEKIEL PROPHECY above was concerning Prophet Zerub'babel(pbuh),He is the Prince mentioned in the Ezekiel passage because what is stated in the Book of Haggai:

HAGGAI 2:23 -

In that day, saith the LORD of hosts, will I take thee, O Zerub'babel, my servant, the son of She-al'ti-el, saith the LORD, and will make thee as a signet: for I have chosen thee, saith the LORD of hosts.

Yes, the Sabbaths DOES NOT and NEVER include the so-called "Lord's Day"(Sunday).

LEVITICUS 25:8 explains this:

8 ¶ And thou shalt number seven sabbaths of years unto thee, seven times seven years; and the space of the seven sabbaths of years shall be unto thee forty and nine years.

The SEVEN year Sabbath is mention but NO HINT or even a mention of "Sunday"(the so-called LORD'S DAY).

------------------------------------------------------------

The above was a reponse to the host of "Family Radio" and other preachers who support him. This is what is stated in the Gospel of Matthew and which is presented as evidence to support the "Lord's Day"(Sunday):

Matthew 28:1

In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Mag'dalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.

"In the end of the Sabbath" is very clear and therefore SUNDAY is NOT included in the ""Sabbaths"" category.

My counter evidence against this is(concentrate on verse 19):

Nehemiah 13:15-20

15 ¶ In those days saw I in Judah some treading winepresses on the sabbath, and bringing in sheaves, and lading asses; as also wine, grapes, and figs, and all manner of burdens, which they brought into Jerusalem on the sabbath day: and I testified against them in the day wherein they sold victuals.

16 There dwelt men of Tyre also therein, which brought fish, and all manner of ware, and sold on the sabbath unto the children of Judah, and in Jerusalem.

17 Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said unto them, What evil thing is this that ye do, and profane the sabbath day?

18 Did not your fathers thus, and did not our God bring all this evil upon us, and upon this city? yet ye bring more wrath upon Israel by profaning the sabbath.

19 ¶ And it came to pass, that when the gates of Jerusalem began to be dark before the sabbath, I commanded that the gates should be shut, and charged that they should not be opened till after the sabbath: and some of my servants set I at the gates, that there should no burden be brought in on the sabbath day.

20 So the merchants and sellers of all kind of ware lodged without Jerusalem once or twice.

21 Then I testified against them, and said unto them, Why lodge ye about the wall? if ye do so again, I will lay hands on you. From that time forth came they no more on the sabbath.

A Christian would point out to you, first, that all you've quoted was the Old Testament, and Christians are governed by the New Testament (although it's easy to get a different impression from those who are obsessed about spreading The Ten Commandments all over public property like pigeon poop).

As it happens, there's nothing in the New Testament to warrant worshipping on a Mithraic holy day, SUNday, either. Your argument would have been more effective if you had pointed THAT out.

Default Clara....

Clara,

I am aware of this fact. If we look into the New Testament we would see that Paul was in the Synagogue and observing the Sabbath. This is noted in the Book of ACTS.

So, technically a Christian would have to follow the Sabbath rules and then meet on Sunday. Sunday was the day after and they leaders of the Pauline group and early Christians of Jewish origins met each other on that Day. Otherwords, Sunday was simply a meeting day.

Paul telling Non-Jewish Christians to NOT observe the Sabbath and Moon days would contradict the Acts but then anyone could have interpreted to mean that you should not BE FORCED to observe them if you do not want to do so. James, the supposed the half-brother of Jesus(pbuh),observed the these days and even told Paul to rescind his orders concerning the observation of the Sabbath.

This is located in ACTS 15:19-21

Quote:
19 Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:

20 but that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, (Ex. 34.15-17) and from fornication, (Lev. 18.6-23) and from things strangled, and from blood. (Lev. 17.10-16)

21 For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.
Thanks for clarifying a matter.

I actually know many seventh-day adventists and eventhough i'm agnostic I would have to say if any group of christians are going to heaven it would be the seventh-day adventists. I don't know if all seventh-day adventists are like this, but the seventh-day adventists I know are the only ones who actively make christianity a part of their everyday life, they read the bible alot and make their sabbath an actual sabbath, unlike most chrisitans today who's sabbath ends Sunday afternoon when they leave church (eventhough a lot of protestants and catholics don't even go to church anymore).

According to religioustolerance.org, they also have a huge success rate of going to college (maybe because they don't spend all of their time watching TV?)and not suprisingly all of my friends of that group are doctors, med students and pre-med, with a few business majors. They also refuse to listen/watch any entertainment that isn't up to christian standards and most are out of touch of idiot shows like survivor (oh wait.. out of season now huh?). Even my most bible thumping protestant friend likes to go out and watch movies with violence and action!

From what i've read online alot of seventh-day adventists are like my friends... maybe it is something in the water they drink If I believed in God I would be a seventh-day adventist, being a catholic is equal to being an athiest and being a protestant is like being a dumbed down version of a real christian.
