Whats your opinion on the 'father' of Communism?

A few points

- Lenin purged his opposition
+ But he was fighting a civil war

- Bad harvests/starvation in Russia
+ Lenin asked for international aid unlike Stalin

- Education policy (little discapline)


+ NEP (New Economic Policy)
+ Was going to protect workers rights before he fell ill
+ Disapproved of Stalin

though i don't many people here would look favorable of communism one of the main points that Lenin brought up well actually Marxis (spell) is if we set up a soioty thats good people we eventually fallow suit. (the presumption that people are generally good)

yes, if because it's not the case, I know that Saddam was a dictator but with Bush it's not better, the elections will probably not be democratic, party against privatization of oil and the religious leaders won't be there. Only 40% like Bush in the USA and really less than this in all other countries.

Lenin was good. He would have succeeded in building a true socialist nation but tragically passed before his time. His problem was the opposition against him(counter-revolutionaries&most western countries), if he had lived long enough to put Trotsky in power than the global worker's revolution would have happened. If theres one to hate, hate Joseph "Mockery to Communism" Stalin. ...Until then Comrades.

both were bad....stalin was worse because he had more time...in his rien 40 000 deaths can be attributed to lenin....stalin millions...it was a matter of degree...both were authoritarian.....they would not heed the call of rosa luxembourg.

social critics are a pain

Lenin just like all Bolshevik scum intended to destroy any opposition or what they perceived as apposition to the goal of world socialism. I wll agree that Stalin was a more brutal piece of human fecal matter but he was not an ideologist as Lenin was. Lenin was more of an intellectual murderer whereas Stalin was just a savage wild dog.

Yet when you boil it all down there is one uiversal truth: Stalin was more brutal as a matter of degree as someone else just said. They were both socialist marist filth.

Bad.

He did have some good aspects to him unlike Stalin. But he set the stage for stalin, he killed his opposition, he setup the secret police, he setup the kulaks as a scapegoat etc. The main difference between Lenin and Stalin is Lenin wasn't afraid to compromise.
