The US tries out new European policy aimed at spreading dominance
It has become known that the US is making an attempt of its new long-term European policy in regard to Eastern European states, Baltic countries and republics of the former USSR. The content of the new policy involves gradual spread of the US' military dominance by means of deployment of troops on the territory of Eastern European countries; then, re-training and re-equipping of local armed forces (or rather what remains of them) by sample of American Army so that to ensure full compatibility; succedent phasing down internal armed forces and replacing them with US troops; graduate dismantling local military-industrial complex as not wanted; and turning internal military forces into that only capable of performing police services and support of military operations of the US in hot spots of the globe, like Iraq and Afghanistan. Bulgaria is to be America's pilot balloon as US secretary of state Condoleezza Rice visits Sofia in April to sign the agreement for positioning US troops in Bulgarian military bases. The first US soldiers will arrive already in 2007, US ambassador to Bulgaria John Beyrle said. Under the deal US troops will be able to use three Bulgarian military bases - the Novo Selo training aria and the Bezmer aviation base in southeastern Bulgaria, as well as at the Graf Ignatievo airfield in central Bulgaria, which is better suited for the US aircraft. 2 Bulgarians. You may say your Thank you! to Lyubomir Ivanov as he is Bulgaria's chief negotiator for this deal. P.S. By the way, Turkey must be America's second step towards total military dominance. The US was reported to be considering the establishment of three naval bases in Turkey - the port of Iskenderun on the Mediterranean coast, Urla in the Aegean Sea, and Mordogan on the Aegean coast. |

For a country which never tires of telling the world of their love of 'freedom' and 'democracy', and ceaselessly prattle-on about their desire to spread same - they do seem to have an awful lot of military bases all over the world....in other people's countries! How very odd?.......
I see they let a few of the natives back to Diego Garcia for a few hours last week; just long enough to weep and wail at the loss of their homeland, forever.....then they shipped them back to the exiled squalor that has been their lot since their homes were stolen.... but, on the bright side...its called 'Camp Justice' now....(how's that for crudity?)

My mistake in thinking that you were responding to my post - I simply assumed....but, in fairness, the expansion of post-cold war NATO into 'Bulgaria' - this is as close to being as outlandish as a 'Diego Garcia' reference as may be...no matter....numbnuts has us all lead astray...

As far as I know, we dont have a single military base anywhere without the consent of whatever nations owns that land. Can you list examples of some exceptions for me? Quote:
