In romania there are lots of taxes, and products are very expensive, and even getting more expensive, but sallaries are VERY low. Is it possible for a mteacher to have a salary of $150 per month? This is unacceptable, but that`s romania. Look at some stats:

Minimum salary per month: $100
Medium salary per month: $200

A 2L bottle of mineral water: $0.60
A kg of Jacobs cofee: $7
A pack of cigarettes: $2
A 2L coca cola bottle (also note that the quality of coca cola in romania is 100% worse than the real coca-cola): $3.50

And other prices , that do not seem expensive to ppeople living in civilized countries, but try imagining having $200 a month and then you`l understand the prices.

We here, "in the west", haven't heard a whole lot about it in the media these days.

Maybe, that's because "nothing is going horribly wrong", yes?

But, listening to y'all (and reading your threads), it sounds like you have plenty of problems to deal with.

What's the prevailing view towards the US? Do you think we're trying to help you, or do you perceive we're trying to hurt you, or that we don't care?

Yeah, we really got plenty of problems...now romania`s just 2 weeks before entering the EU and i just saw on news a reportage about people living at the place where they throw the junk...they eat expired food from there and give them to their children too. The ppl there said that after the intregration their only hope is for the quality of the garbage to raise. So this is it...Romania, a country as Baroso said, who made a lot of progress...
