I remember I heard some Polish top official to say in an interview that the NATO has lost its might and now is not able to enhance security of Poland in case of a military conflict with some third country.

Well I cannot but agree with the interviewee. Honestly, nowadays I would not wish any developing country enter the NATO. Not only because this step demands wild expenses for rearmament but also considering that this country's troops contingent will have to take part in all military operations brewed by war hawks of the White House.

Just the same refers to Ukraine. I live here and I bindingly confirm that the vast majority of the Ukrainians are perfectly aware what entering the NATO presignifies for this country, though the governance in face of president Viktor Yushchenko tries to persuade us of the necessity for entering NATO at all accounts.

Well, I think it is all clear with president Yushchenko. He is either a blithering idiot, or has sold himself to Americans to the marrow of his bones, or his wife Chumachenko (who is said to be a CIA agent) has argued him into coming to a positive decision for Ukraine's entering NATO.

Anyways, it's all the same for us. Even worse, as soon as Ukraine becomes a NATO member-state, America will require deploying its anti-ballistic missile systems here which will cause an ecological disaster in this region. Besides that, Ukraine will become a target for attacks of radical Islamic militants. Well, it's clear that the advantage of entering NATO is minimal, if not doubtful, when problems coming from it are obvious. So why the hell should we do it?
