We're all going to get killed. Well, at least that's what Putin is saying. Because that's what missiles are made for and he's pointing them at us.


Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that U.S. plans to build a missile defense system in Eastern Europe would force Moscow to target its weapons against Europe.

The threat, in an interview published Sunday in Italy's Corriere della Sera and other foreign media, marked one of Putin's most strident statements to date against the U.S. plans and came just days before he is to join President Bush and other leaders at a Group of Eight summit in Germany.

In the interview, Putin was asked whether the proposed missile defense shield would compel Moscow to direct its own missiles at locations and U.S. military sites in Europe, as during the Cold War.

"If the American nuclear potential grows in European territory, we have to give ourselves new targets in Europe," Putin said, according to Corriere. "It is up to our military to define these targets, in addition to defining the choice between ballistic and cruise missiles."

Russia has not overtly targeted Europe since agreeing after the fall of the Soviet Union not to direct missiles against specific countries, according to Pavel Felgenhauer, an independent military analyst based in Moscow. He added however, that that was simple technical matter, since a missile can be given a target within minutes.

Previously, some Russian military officials have said Moscow could aim Russian weapons at Europe-based missile systems.

Well, at least the U.S. is a safer place.

Pointing more missiles at us is not going to convince us that a Missile Defense System is LESS necessary.

Putin's actions are a good thing. It will fuel American demand for a Missile Defense System, while not increasing our risk. Becuase there is no chance Putin will start a nuclear war with us IMO. They have no chance of successfully invading us, and will not start a nuclear war over NMD. Therefore they are not a threat to us.

More than that, the fact that he claims his missiles will evade our defenses (whether it is true or not) will give us more incentive to improve our Missile Defense technology. His phantom Cold War actually works in my favor. So I hope he continues his retarded rants against us. It will strengthen us in a place that we need more strength IMO.

I dont surprised...Czehians and Polaks are against USA bases ,radars and nuclear rockets....but who will ask about it them?...Its not democratic states there,thats why they afraid to make referendums....so Putin is true,that those new rockets will look to those Polakia and Czeh Republic.....because in 1990-th USA and Russia wrote rezolution where noted,that Russia and USA will cut bases with rocket ammo in East Europe,but Russia it done,but USA started make more and more....you must be stupid if you trust that Iran and North-Korea can build nuclear rockets....if FOX news said it,its not meant that they could....they will watch to Europen Russia....... because who know who would became new russian president in 2008 year may be Liberal Radicals which support reunition of Russia or communists or etc.....USA is try to make more bases around of Russia how they could do it.....

They are not children or animals. Eventually they will figure it out, just like we did. It is only a matter of time.

When did I say they wanted to invade us? All I said was that it was not an option for them, regardless of whether they want to or not.

I have already said that I do not consider Russia to be an enemy, and neither do the vast majority of Americans. This whole Cold War thing is a complete fabrication. It doesnt exist.

You need at least two sides to have a cold war.

So why is Russia building technology to counter it if it is such a piece of ѕhit? Does the Russian government know something you dont?

Nothing. Putin is an extremely nationalistic, paranoid, and insecure president who is looking for every avenue through which to secure Russia's strategic interests. he sees this as one. Mroeover, he as most Russians, is very untrustworthy of the West. Russians don't like Americans (I know this because I'm Russian, you should see their tv) and think the West is out to get them. They view the defense shield as further Western intrusion into Russia, which is illoigcal and paranoi baloney and insecurity.

That explains why he and Bush get along so well on a personal level. Like two little peas in a pod.

That's they're f'd up logic and thinking. They just do.

For example, the State Dep. every year publishes a list of how democratic each country is. The usuals are at the top. Russia dropped to like less than 20 places all the way at the end. All that happened was that the State Dep. published they're regular list like always and my dad told me how he was taking notes one day in Moscow of how EVERY Russian tv station was going crazy condemning American intrusion into Russian affairs. Mt dad counted 14 channels simultaneously. Russians really really don't like Americans. Its emotional reasoning, not logical.
