Poland is probably the best, but only because of the trade and integration with Western Europe. Estonia is also doing well because of the trade with Finland (the finns sympathise with them because they are both essentially of the same ethnicity, similar language). Poverty and alcoholism remains a problem in the Ukraine and Russia.
I agree with you. Poland's currency the zlotney has resisted the inflation from europe and fares better than any other currency.

Estonians differ from the Finns.... I don't think the estonians speak suomi.

Suomi is the name for Finland in the finnish language.

    DDR which joined BRD.
Buchanan says: “Political Correctness is Cultural Marxism, a regime to punish dissent and to stigmatize social heresy as the Inquisition punished religious heresy. Its trademark is intolerance.By classifying its adversaries as haters, or mentally ill... James Burnham says:"Liberalism is the ideology of Western suicide", might today to be compared to the HIV virus that destroys the immune system

Definitely the Czech Republic is one of the most successful of the post-Communist states. They have the stable economy and pretty high standard of living. The level of crime is relatively low there. Typical small and quiet European country.

Really. You can start by comparing the level of crime of the Czech Republic with the level of crime of other post-Communist states as Albania, Russia, and former Soviet republics as Ukraine, or Moldavia.

If we include Ex YU in it, although it was never under 'Iron Curtain' I'd go with Slovenia as a most successful country today.
Kosovo is Serbia-NO RETREAT, NO SURRENDER!
