Sadistic Savior, let me try to break this down for you. The Mujahideen, in American terms is a Muslim guerilla terrorist unit. They were originally formulated and equipped by the US and CIA. They were funded and kept secret by the US, China, Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and others. Our ‘friends’, the Saudi’s produced a certain Osama Bin Laden who originally helped the US fund this group, later he became head of the Afghan division - which branched out into most divisions known to date.

All of this was a result of US fear of the USSR, and the Mujahideen became the victors after the soviets pulled out of Afghanistan. The groups began fighting amongst themselves which produced the Taliban (all of this began with Reagan – yeah he was such a great president). Our friendly Saudi’s educated the Taliban in tactics and warfare, using methods from the US. What does all this have to do with Kosovo?

Thousands of Mujahideen (aka Taliban) fighters took over the ranks of the KLA in the nineties, because of their superior fighting abilities (over 10% of the KLA are former Taliban members).

Actually, you can trace the insurgency of every Muslim extremist attack in every Muslim country or region from the Mujahideen in the last 10 years; all because our wonderful Reagan decided to make a fun ‘freedom fighter’ unit. And our wonderful Bush is fighting the ‘freedom fighters’ in the Middle East but…he is letting them into power in Kosovo. Sounds like a plan! Five stars Mister Bush! This is why the world is angry with Mr. Bush and America for backing the KLA. It is hypocritical, idiotic, and suicidal.

The KLA hardly represents the Muslim people of Kosovo. They are a guerilla terrorist unit, do you think the honorable Muslims of Kosovo have a shot in hell at speaking out against them? If you do, think again and rethink it again until you are sure you are right with your decision to back a terrorist insurrection.

You know I don't agree with you on much Fear but I think for once I think it may be the right thing to rattle the saber a little (or at least try and get NATO to do it.)

I think it would be a bad idea to set a precedent for being oblivious to Russia ballooning right back up to it's former size and influence.

But with them sitting flush with so much oil and natural gas (and us running on empty) I am not sure we can really stop them in the long run.

Perhaps you do sit on such gas reserves, but Europe does not. And as long as Russia supplies the gas to Europe, the political influence shall be stronger and stronger.

Which is why, regardless of whether we ethically or politically back this new indipendence, we need to keep Russia from regaining this territory. If they do, we set a terrible precedent, and other countries looking to leave Russian rule will think thrice before they do, knowing that America and the "Free World" might not back them.
