Me: Historical origins are irrelevant. I don't really care how important a piece of dirt is to the Serbians. They could have chosen not to oppress the Kosovo minority, and thus retain their control of this "sacred land". They refused to do that. The Serbs had the initiative. Now they will have to deal with the consequences of their actions.
There was no opression,

I am unwilling to take your word for it.

Hahaha, very funny. Who the hell do you think you are? A typical, full of EDIT, knowing-everything, American...

Pretty much, yeah.
I believe you are biased in favor of the Serbs. Thats why I do not trust your opinion.

Funny to say, but you are far away from the power you had under Clinton.

Apparently our power is still sufficient to defend Kosovo's freedom. But if you think you can:

And the whole world hates you.

Don't let my mocking laughter fool you. On the inside I am crying a million tears because the whole world hates us, heh heh
If the alternative is allowing oppression to go unchallenged, I am ok with the whole world hating us. The alternative is worse.

Finally, in a century or so, you will end up in tatters.

Perhaps. But not
today.

Rome had the greatest technology of her time, as do we.

Rome did not have instant communication. We do not have the same limitations they did. That is why your comparison is inaccurate. the variables are not the same.
Quote:

Technology is irrelevant when opposition is great enough.
|
The opposition will have to also rely on technology in order to overcome our technology. So technology will never be irrelevant.
That was even true of Rome. Part of the reason they were so successful was because their technology was superior to their contemporaries.

I did not want to point it out before, but you show typical ignorance of foreign thought, much as many Americans.

You are not the first to say so. I am ok with that opinion, though I dont agree with it. I am very arrogant, even by American standards.

Which is democracy - its very nature opens the doors to corruption

I do not agree that corruption is inevitable under a democracy. Even if it was, I think the evidence makes it clear that corruption is less likely under a democracy than under all the non-democratic alternatives.

DO YOU REALLY BELEIEVE THAT USA BACKS THE ALBANIANS BECaUSE OF THEIR HUMAN RIGHTS?

Yes.
Quote:

And when did ever Americans care about human rights if that was not in their economic or military interest?
|
What interest do we have in Kosovo besides human interest?
Quote:

The Bondstill base in Kosovo is THE LARGEST AMERICAN BASE IN THE WORLD, outside of US soil.

And what we we lose if it is closed down? Kosovo is hardly our only ally in the region.

Democracy, huh? How stupid you are....
|
Guess you should have made more of an effort to convince us you were not oppressing your minorities eh? Ah well. I am sure you will know better next time.

By the way, the US Embassy in Belgrade is burning right now. And a burned body was found in it, which cannot be identified.

This will distance us from Serbia even more, making a compromise less likely. Looks like Kosovo independence has just been cemented.
